It could be some of the latter, but surely a big reason they're not given the opportunity is they don't hit well enough in the minor leagues to earn an opportunity.

Rivera had a .222 batting average and a .576 OPS in AAA. I'm not sure he should have been promoted to the BLB.

And I'm saying this as someone who gave at-bats to a 3 contact guy last year after he hit the shit out of the ball in AAA.

      Great write up and idea.

We have more good stuff in this league than any I've ever been in.

He was promoted for defensive reasons only.

          I can't argue with that.

              Just one.
I think with OOTP16, you will see a lot more.

Ask me this question this question again in 2017.

OOTP has been moving toward more accurate ratings similar to what you see in MLB scouting reports.

I know I sound a little annoying saying this again but 4s will definitely be more normal. Not saying those players will be .300 hitters or anything special, but they should be more serviceable than in the past especially if there are less 7s and 8s crowding them out.

3s will be tough. But depends on the rest of their attributes.

I have a player in another league that has a 3 contact but is at least an 8 in everything else (granted the rating system is 2-10 so 3 is not our 3, it's more like our 4) and he is a consistent high .800 OPS hitter that will hit .290 with a .500 SLG and has led the league in doubles for five straight seasons.

Basically I mention him because his contact rating clearly doesn't affect him as much as it probably would in OOTP 15.

                      I've been listening.

I still have a hard time with 3 contact guys.

It's the 6s and 7s across the board defensively that kept him in our lineup. This is why we spent so much money on our infield this offseason. However, Allen will still see some action this year spelling our starters.

As do I. Would be interested in seeing what we get out of them.

Probably mostly utility guys or defensive players that bring something else to the lineup.

I wouldn't be against a 3 contact guy if he can walk a ton and play great defense.

Hopefully McLamore and his "4" in contact will be more serviciable again for us in this version. His $11M contract needs to be justified...

By the way I think I have a future "above average" CF in my AAA level right now, he is having a lot up and downs during his career but itīs worth a consideration.

                            http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_6659.html

.270 / .309 / .390 / .699 / 94 / 1.2 WAR with 7 BBs (38 SO though) and 5 SB (3 CS though) in 152 AB during his month and a half ternure in AAA last year, combined with his excellent stealing ability and +8.2 ZR with only 1 booted ball in 370.2 IP.

Letīs see how is full year plays up in Chicago and he might have a call up in September. We will have a little splash of his during ST.

My scout likes him more than OSA and heīs doing well the last two years since he got back on track
