  • Maine AA affiliate Bar Harbor unveils new name

<img src="http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/news/html/images/team_logos/bar_harbor_islanders.png" style="float:right;margin:16px;">BAR HARBOR, ME -- The Bar Harbor franchise announced today they will be henceforth known as the Bar Harbor Islanders.

Previously known as the Bar Harbor Blues, the organization decided to change the team name this offseason following the renaming of the former Windy City Playboys to the Blues name. The organization wanted to avoid any possible confusion.

<img src="http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/news/html/images/person_pictures/player_5137.png" style="float:right;margin:16px;">Located on Mount Desert Island off the coast of Maine, Bar Harbor has fielded the Guides' AA affiliate since the BLB began in 1978. Many Maine greats spent their youth playing baseball on the island.

The new Bar Harbor Islanders logo and uniforms feature a lighthouse in the style of the historic Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse. Built in 1858, the lighthouse has helped guide ships to the island for a century and a half.

Bar Harbor won the Lautering Union Championship in 2006. They fielded a division-winning 73-win club in 2015, leading to their first playoff appearance in eight seasons.

Dang, sorry about that. I didn't realize that there was a minor league team named the Blues, though my BLB squad has been mistaken for a AA team so I can see how that would lead to confusion.

Now y'all have me listening to Billy Joel.

I like the logo. Reminds me of an alternate New York Islanders logo. The jersey is good too. Im not a huge fan of pinstripes on a jersey but it works.
