  • Pittsburgh Millers would like to introduce...

The new Chairman, Baseball Operations, Pat!

Pat joins the organization after a 1 & 1/2 season hiatus. Before this Pat was the GM of the Washington Bats where he produced historic numbers.
    • 24 Playoff Appearances in 35 seasons.
    • All time winningest GM in team League history, going 3161 - 2400 (.568)
    • The owner of 6 Brewmaster Cups...

"We are absolutely ecstatic to add Pat to our front office. I've told you in every PC since I've been here, all I want to do is win for this organization. Adding him gets us closer to a championship. This conversation just kind of materialized and next thing I knew he and I were seeking league approval." GM mike said. "Pat will be involved in the day-to-day operations, we've got a long road ahead of us to make the playoffs this year, but dammit we're gonna give it our best shot!"

I know I am personally excited to be working here with Pat, selfishly, I believe I have a lot to learn and theres nobody better to learn from than him.......

So hang on to your hats fellas....the steel city just got interesting!!!!

First off I would like to say thank you to Mike for the very kind words as well as coming up with the idea to keep me involved in the BLB. As you may have noticed, I have tried to stay around the league/forums the past five months but days sometimes weeks would go by where I wouldn't check in. It made it very hard to keep up with league news, team trends, big trades, rule changes, etc. How is Hartford winning? Maine is bad now? Death Valley has the best record? This is madness! Now I have a reason to check in without the full responsibilities of running my own team.

I would also like to thank Matt and Brad for giving the approval for this to take place. As I've stated before I still love the BLB but don't have the time for a full team commitment. I might in the future but only time will tell.

I plan to help Mike with the Millers anyway I can but he is still the top dog and will have final say in all matters. I once took a different Miller GM under my wing (mwetts), so I do have a soft spot for the franchise. Hopefully it's a positive experience for the entire league.

And who ever had the under in the "Six Months Until He's Back" pool, you're the big winner today.

Nice! Keeps Pat involved which is good for everybody.

Riverman and I tried something similar when I took over the Brawlers. It didn't last long and all the PMs back and forth got annoying.

That's one way to put it.

Hope it works out for you both. Either way, glad Pat's back in some capacity.

I'm making overtures to Riverman to assist my rebuilding process

I'm prepared to offer 6 first round picks for the right player

As long as he's a silent partner, I'll take some of that.
