Sometimes, Soon Just Isn't Soon Enough: At least, that's the message sent by J.R. Lowe when he called a press conference to publicly air his frustration with the Batavia Muckdogs management. "I've been around the block a few times," he said with a mournful note in his voice, "I know how this game is played. And I can say that this is easily the most inept management crew I've ever had the displeasure to work for. I don't want to take anything away from my fellow players" he cautioned, nodding to a few of his teammates who were watching from the sidelines with grim faces. "They're playing their hearts out. It's not their fault that we're losing. But I'm sick and tired of being stabbed in the back by desk jockeys that couldn't pour pee out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel."

When asked if he had a message for the GM, his tone became harsh. "Yeah, I've got a message. Looking for someone to blame? Look in the mirror."

When asked if he wanted to be traded, he deadpanned, "what do you think?"

Lowe's contract is up at the end of this season. If this press conference was any indication, there is no chance he will re-sign and a trade may be in his future.

Superstar C Inks Deal with Guides: The Maine Guides have finished a deal with All Star-caliber catcher Ray Davila that will extend his stay in Maine at least 4 years and will pay out $46,000,000.

For the year Davila has hit .221 with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 10 runs.

Lang on Fire: 5-5 for Indianapolis: On top of the Indianapolis hit parade today was Robby Lang. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Clowns to a 16-0 victory over the Carolina Tobs. The sweet swinging first baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Tobs wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Robby Lang hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Alex Diaz in the 7th.

Lang has a .277 average and a .315 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 33 hits, 4 home runs and driven in 15 runs.

More Woes For Guides Fernando Hernandez: A bit of bad luck has fallen on the Maine Guides today as they learned that starting pitcher Fernando Hernandez had suffered a setback in his recovery from back spasms and will miss more time than expected. The team's doctors had been optimistic about the player's return date, but have now rescinded the original date. The initial guess at how much more time he'll miss is 4-5 weeks.

So far this year Hernandez has made 7 starts, tossed 41.1 innings, struck out 27 batters and walked 15. His record is 3-3 with a 4.57 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .281 batting average.

Gonzalez Convicted, Career and Life Suspended: After a short trial, enormous amounts of evidence showed that Danny Gonzalez indeed was a part of a scheme to defraud investors across the nation. Gonzalez's high powered lawyers were rendered powerless by the prosecution's case against their defendant. Gonzalez now faces 5 years in prison and an end to his career as a major league ball player. Through tears, he told the media, "I'll be back. I will appeal and I will win! The truth is on my side". That was the last thing he said before being corralled back by the deputies.

                California's Churchill Suspended 2 Games:
The California Kodiaks were not very happy with the home plate umpire in today's loss to Los Alamos at In-N-Out Field. One in particular -- Tom Churchill. Upon being called out on strikes, the Kodiaks left fielder gave the ump quite an earful. For that, the man in blue gave him the thumb and sent him to an early shower.

But the disgruntled Churchill lingered on the field for another five minutes, berating the umpire. Finally his manager got him off the field and into the clubhouse.

But it got worse after the game, when Churchill told reporters, "He was blind today. They played 'Three Blind Mice' for him. If he doesn't know the words to the song, I'm sure we can get it in Braille, so he can follow along."

For his escapades and after-the-game oration, the league office suspended Churchill for 2 games.

So far this season, Churchill has recorded a .240 batting average with 53 hits, 4 home runs, 24 RBIs, 25 runs scored and a .303 OBP.

5-6 Day for Dellinger: Darryl Dellinger really sizzled at the plate in today's 18-0 win over Dinos. The Hartford first baseman blistered Los Angeles for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Dellinger was too tough to get out today," the Dinos skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Darryl Dellinger hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off William Juenger in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.

Thus far this year Dellinger has hit .311 with 22 home runs and 69 RBIs.

The Pawtucket Patriots Win Again, Making it 10 Straight!: The Patriots have simply been on fire lately racking up 10 wins in a row. Few fans across Brewers League Baseball will have their team come close to winning so many games in a row this year and Pawtucket Manager, Elijah Cook, urged fans not to take it for granted. "These guys are playing their butts off," said Cook. "I don't know how long it will last but I hope our fans are enjoying it. We sure are!"

Bulldogs Lose Rodriques for 6 Weeks:
Baltimore first baseman Henry Rodriques left today's game with an oblique strain. The injury looked like it occurred running the bases in the game against Davenport. One fan said, "As soon as it happened, you could tell something was wrong." The injury will likely leave the Bulldogs without Rodriques for about 6 weeks.

In 78 games this season Rodriques has batted at a .306 pace with 90 hits and 21 home runs.

                          Batavia Third Baseman Demands Trade?:
Sources inside the Batavia organization have confirmed that Billy Alvarado's name has come up in trade talks. They were unable to verify, however, that someone has contacted the Muckdogs about obtaining the 36-year-old third baseman.

                          Bats Pitching Ravaged by Wilkinson:
Death Valley shortstop C.J. Wilkinson wielded a big stick today against the Bats and his club walked off the field winners by the score of 5-0. Wilkinson helped tame Washington with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. C.J. Wilkinson doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

Thus far this season Wilkinson has hit .276 with no home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 44 times.
