Bulldogs' Ace Sets Sights On Pale Ale Award<img src="http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/news/html/images/person_pictures/player_4902.png" style="float:right;padding-right:83px;padding-left:11px;padding-bottom:11px;">
    Baltimore, MD

Todd Taylor has been described as confident, self-assured, intense and dominant as well as arrogant, and condescending by various teammates over his 8-year BLB career. One thing that everyone has agreed upon is that Todd Taylor wants to win.

"I've always been one of the best players on a baseball field. That's never been in question," the 31 year old hurler explained with complete confidence in his voice.

"Its just nice. I'm pitching probably the best I have in my BLB career. We've got guys in the 'pen that we can depend on. The offense scores enough for me to be aggressive every start. That helps a lot," the Baltimore native said.

"But I have to admit, I've learned a few things these past couple of years from Coach Chumley that has really taken me to another level out there on the field," he added but refrained from elaborating on what those "things" are.

Whatever they are, Taylor has used them masterfully to elevate himself to one of the best pitchers in the IL. Last year he finished 3rd in voting for the IL Pale Ale Award. This year despite the #parkfactors of Phillips Field, Taylor leads the IL in ERA, WHIP, and Wins, all while logging the most innings pitched (in the IL) so far this season.

It is rumored that Taylor has incentive clauses in his contract to potentially earn an extra $1MM, and that is the driving force to this level of performance. Bulldogs' manager, Turi Solis, disagrees. "It is a known fact that Todd can be selfish from time-to-time. But when you see us "discussing" an issue, know that it is always him trying to explain why he should've stayed in the entire game. The kid just wants to win."

Taylor's lone playoff appearance came in 2008, when the Bulldogs were hastily eliminated by the eventual IL Champion, Windy City Playboys. This year, the Bulldogs are in a good position to give him another crack at the playoffs.

Only this time, he may have some personal hardware and an extra million dollars to go with it.
