PORTLAND, ME — The Maine Guides announced Monday that top prospect shortstop Chris Lerma will join AAA affiliate Portsmouth for Monday night's game.

The 24th ranked prospect in the league according to the Baseball News Network, Lerma hit .262 with a .374 on-base percentage this season at AA Bar Harbor. He missed time earlier this season with a separated shoulder and had returned to play last week.

The 6'6" Lerma distinguishes himself with his combination of size and agility up the middle. Known for his outstanding defense at short, he captured a Glove Wizard Award in 2010.

Lerma has also stolen 153 bases since joining the professional ranks as the 18th overall selection out of Westland John Glenn High School in 2006.

              MR WILLIAM CHEWNING (Dallas Snappers)

After a good start of the season as a Setup / Reliever, Chewning is finally call up to play instead of Espaillat who is being a huge problem in the bullpen for the Snappers during the whole season.

A groundball pitcher with a decent Fastball and Slider is one of the few players from AAA who is playing a good season, He collected 18 Ks in 23.2 with 20 HA and 0 HR. His 2.28 ERA and 0.6 WAR set him as a good bottom of the bullpen option.

Dallas, TX: Dominic Tétreault, SS, 22 Years, Switch Bat.
Dominic was a specific demand of Manager Sharkn20 after see him playing in AA during the beggining of the season, Tétreault turned eyes with his great Glove and range playing SS / 2B, (+2.7 ZR), "I just was stacked and upset in Pittsburgh because there were a lot guys above me older and with a great bat" "I know my bat sucks but can you find a better defender than me with a better bat? Not many I guess"

After a .222 in AAA showing good running skills, drawing 7 BB and an outsanding +5.7 ZR, Dominic was paving his own ground to the BLB with Sharkn20 taking a close eye on him, "I really appreciatte the dedication of our GM finding the best place for me within the Snappers organization" "I was really looking forward for the challenge to play against the best batters on the BLB, and suddenly I received the call Sunday night, I noticed that Jarod (Bennett) was holding his globe after one bad reception and couldn´t continue playing for the rest of the week. I felt really bad for him but man, you know? It opened the door for me" "Then on Tuesday I traveled to Pittsburgh again, I said hello to my former GM Mike and I had my first inning in the BLB, I spoke with Arce and he was very confident that I could hold those ground-balls that he loves to throw for the batters and then first inning, BANG two runs against, we finally lost 8-1 but will never forget that first game"

After this first week Dominic sucks with his bat .150/.190/.150/.340 -0.2 WAR, bat he was called up to defend and he limited pittsburh to 4.7 runs / game and Patucket to a 3.3 runs / game, for a 3-3 team week. He did score his first run on Wednesday in his 2nd game.
Tétreault will have 5 more weeks to enjoy in the BLB, see how the experiment goes.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. That's the case with Lorenzo Sanchez.

A 4th round pick, 84th overall, by California in 2006, was cut immediately following the draft. A month later, he joined the Washington organization. After four years trying to make it as a starter, Sanchez was moved to closer and has never looked back.

Three seasons and 44 saves later in Double-A and Triple-A, Sanchez was given his first Spring Training invite. Despite a 1.46 ERA and .73 WHIP, the 24-year-old was sent back down to Triple-A. He resumed his closer role and picked up 15 more saves before making his BLB debut this week.

A flyball pitcher, armed with a 94 MPH fastball and devastating curve, the Dominican born Sanchez appears here to stay.

SP Ted Hall is getting the call for his BLB debut, squaring off against the always tough Baltimore Bulldogs. After taking a year off to sow his royal oats on the golf course, Hall has spent the season getting his groove back with Triple A affiliate Fort Wayne. Surprisingly crisp all season, Hall hasn't shown much rust, and is expected to be a major instrument in our march to the playoffs. Indy officials view Hall as the replacement for the second starter they searched for at the Trade Deadline, but ultimately struck out on.

According to multiple team sources, Hall is just the first top flight prospect expected to get the call to Indy as summer fades.

Morales was super raw coming out of High School, and took a bit to get going in Single A, but once he hit Double A, he was good to go. He'd but up by now if not for his injury earlier this season. At the very worst, he's a really good fourth outfielder for us this year. His potential has dipped a bit over the years, but I still really like him. At his best, I think he's a lock for 20 homers and 20 steals, along with 30 doubles and a handful of triples. He's an elite defender in left, just hoping he can do the same in right.

2007 fourth round pick OF Seth Foster joins the Guides. He takes the place of Tom Mathews, who was waived today. Foster once went 5 for 6 in a minor league game with 4 stolen bases.
