    Dani Trujillo Retires

    Los Angeles, Ca.

Dani Trujillo has announced his retirement from the BLB.

The all-time hit leader in BLB history has decided to hang up his cleats after 22 years of service. "All I wanted to do since I was a teenager was to play baseball, and by luck and some hard work, I did just that." said Trujillo in a jersey retirement ceremony held by the Kodiaks at In-N-Out Field.

Trujilo, who began his career with the Pittsburgh Millers was traded to the Kodiaks in 1998 in what may have been the biggest blockbuster trade in BLB history. In return for the services of Trujillo the Millers received SP - Jamie "Fudd" Thomas and 1B - David Gamboa. Thomas would go on to win a Pale Ale for the Millers and Gamboa would win the Refreshing New Brew as well as the Stout Slugger.

Even with the talent the Kodiaks gave up, GM David Lint stated he'd do the deal again. "Giving up two great prospects for the the man I consider the greatest shortstop in BLB history? That's a no-brainer."

For his career Trujillo finishes as the all-time leader in At-bats, hits and singles while finishing in the Top 10 in four other categories.

Trujillo read a prepared statement to media choosing to end his short speech with the following quote from Jim Bouton...
"You spend a good piece of your life gripping a baseball and in the end it turns out that it was the other way around all the time. "

    3,512 hits. Countless memories.
