  • 2011 Divisional Round DL

    Series of extremes.

    Pawtucket versus LA Dino's

Pawtucket actually going in with 4 starters with ZERO starts. Talley was never allowed to start and Donavon was not allowed to pitch one inning, Lemus and McDade wasn't on the team. Nygaard has experience but he's the odd man out. Crazy. Pawtucket basically comes in with an average offense like last season. The heart of this team is setup/ closer. Finally Funclown gets to face Jimmy!! With a combine 19 playoff appearances in the same league figure by accident we should of squared off? Anyway his team sucks and even worse injured. We'll take the team out drinking.

Pawtucket over LA 4-2. Yes they win 2 games cuz that's what the game does.

    Dallas versus Maine

Ughhh, I can so flip a coin on this series. Yeah Dallas had the best record in the DL and are an elite team, but what's the 'Mongo' affect? Can Skinner pitch in the postseason? Who's the 4 starter? Offense less questions plus they do own homefield advantage. Maine's was clearly the best wildcard team of all of them. It's a simple concept, but gets the job done (Great starting pitching and defense). The offense? Doesn't scare anyone. I don't know, feels like an upset has to happen somewhere.

Maine over Dallas 4-3 (Game 7, Maine 3-2 in 16 innings)

I was being kind to LA. Thought the BLB Gods would grant them with a win or two. I rarely predict us in any series, but come on.

Maine & Dallas was truly surprising. I really thought this was going down to the wire. Sometimes it seems if you blow your division out your team became stagnant or something. Who the hell knows.

I thought our rotation was stronger than theirs and that it could be the deciding factor.

Their guys are good — don't get me wrong. But Arce only pitched half the year and was disappointing. Neal was solid. Skinner was solid. Ortega was nice but pitched most of the year out of the pen.

We have really, really terrific arms this year. Holding Dallas to 2.4 runs per game in the series is truly exceptional. Lucky, to a degree, but our guys had the talent to have a shot at that type of performance.
