  • 2011- 1/3 Season IL Races taking shape

Have 5 solid teams this season. Then some others who are ok

    STOUT

A few seasons ago Death Valley looked like a super team which looked nice in the regular season only to get cut down in the playoffs. Today they look awesome in the rotation and solid (but not great) everywhere else. Something tells me they make a deep run. Wasington probably springs back to .500, but why? Unless DV collapses the wildcard might be too tough a path. I think Seattle takes 3rd and Morgantown slips back to 4th.

    BOCK

Too close to call right now. Overall Carolina is stacked, but Davenport is pretty strong also especially the top 3 in the rotation. Should come down to head to head games. Fuck it, I'll pick Davenport. Los Alamos a very distant 3rd. Windy City I'd expect a few more trades before the end of the season. Maybe top 3 draft pick awaits them.

    PORTER

I thought Philly might take a small step this season, but they appear to be giving me the finger. Still, I think Batavia battles them at the end. Doesn't matter, the 2nd place team gets the wildcard. Baltimore made some bold moves, but then 2 guys in the rotation blew up. Not sure if anymore draft picks exist to pull another deal? California has the hitters up, but where are the pitchers?

    WILDCARD

To me the IL is more straight forward. The 2nd place contenders of the Bock and Porter (Carolina, Davenport, Batavia, Philly) make it. Washington will try as will Baltimore, but 79-84 wins await they're fate.

    Can't disagree.

We're missing close to 12 wins with those two arms sidelined (5.6 WAR for Tameike and 6.3 WAR for Crudge last season). We are going to have to expect a rookie to play like a seasoned vet and get the offense to roll on all cylinders for the remainder of the season to keep up with Batavia and Davenport.

Not likely. Enjoy your pick Clown.

Death Valley has a four game lead over Washington currently with 10 remaining head-to-head games. Anything could happen here. Ironically, the Scorpions and Bats have been the two unluckiest teams this season according to the PYT (-7) and (-6) records, respectively. It will likely come down to the final two weeks but I think Death Valley has the more balanced club and with the Washington GM taking a (in-game) two month vacation, the Scorpions are the smart pick.

      BOCK
Carolina and Davenport are separated by just one game with nine head-to-head games remaining. This one will probably be decided the final three game series of the season. The loser is basically a lock to make the Wild Card. Although, with the Wild Card rule change, there is a LOT more riding on the winning the division now. Every time these two play is must see TV.

      PORTER
Philadelphia has been in control all year and that isn't going to change. They will likely make a waiver deal or two to tighten things up but they are a near lock for the division. Baltimore and Batavia have a slim chance to catch Philly, but they will battle for the Wild Card.

      WILDCARD
The #1 seed will come out of the Bock. That leaves Stout #2 and Porter #2 to battle for the last spot. I'm not sure how Baltimore is keeping pace with all the injuries. When you think of GM of the year votes, remember what Delandis has gone through this season. Batavia has the most talent. But be aware of Washington on CPU control!

      PREDICTION
      Stout: DVS (#3)
      Bock: Carolina (#1)
      Porter: Philly (#2)
      WC1: Davenport
      WC2: Batavia
      Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
      Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
      Washington Bats - 1979-2013

We are just having one of those "Washington" type of years.
