With 2.23 Washington selects 17-year-old SP JP Lawrence.
He was actually pretty high on my initial 1st round big board. OSA has him 4-7-7, 2-5-3 current, 70% groundball and his stats are very impressive (look at his Ks, BABIP and ERA+). He's smart and a leader. High stamina.
I have no experience with OOTP15 so I don't know for sure how it handles SPs with a poor third pitch. I figure as a "play to contact" pitcher, the low third pitch shouldn't kill him. He's not going up there trying to strike you out anyways. If not, he should be a very nice RP. Or he could be a bust with that work ethic...which would piss me off considerably because there are a few players I still really like and I received multiple trade offers.
Taking a chance but I like high risk high reward with my picks after the 1st.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

After completing a trade with Syracuse, Washington selects Clemson 3B Mekhi Richards at 3.5.
Gave up a future 2nd for 3.5 and 5.5 but I thought Richards was worth it. OSA has him 5-5-6-3-5 potential, 4-5-4-2-3 current. He just had a great senior campaign, setting career highs in walks, low in Ks, OPS and VORP. OSA has his IF fielding ratings 5-5-8-5 and OF 5-5-7. He has very solid intangibles as well.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
