    • A rookie league would suck up another 600 players.

With a self imposed age max of 21 (just a number) we'd probably have to have ghost players for a few seasons to fill it up.

That would drop the FA's back to the 200-300 level.

Really liked Ame. Almost took him when I snagged Helton. But I didn't. I took Helton.

          • The one thing that makes this league so much different than any of the others I'm in is how early relievers go.

What if we had a higher age limit (say 23) and for two seasons scaled it back to 21?

                • So after trading up in the second round in a bigger deal, we go with 3B Jimmy Lockard.

To me, he was the best hitter left. My scout feels he has above-average potential and a steady glove at 3B. We will hope his range goes up just a bit, but I like the rest.

Switch hitter. Intelligent. Contact hitter with pop. I only dislike his lack of running skills. But maybe he develops into a power-hitting 3B with some defensive skills. That's the hope here.

My scout didn't have Lockard high on his list, but he liked his potentials. I did too.

I'm not sure I completely understand the draft list at times. Players with much less potentials show up higher than some other guys. That's when I feel I have to step in.

Because whenever you can draft a soft tosser who can't even play for his high school team, you have to do it?
