Martinez has had leg issues his whole career.

Castellanos suffered three catastrophic arm or shoulder injuries prior to this season.

Perales broke his hand in a freak baserunning collision.

Lee also hurt his hand running the bases. He has a history of 17 different injuries in his career though he's only 30 years old.

You had a little bad luck but a lot of it is just older players who have accumulated a lot of damage to their bodies.

Although if it is career ending (meaning he can't play at that level anymore), I'd like to have him resurrected.....;)

Schubert Learns More about Injury: Fred Schubert will have to wait a while longer. The Dallas center fielder was informed this afternoon that he will miss another 10 months with a ruptured medial collateral ligament. The injury has kept him off the field since 07/24/2011. Though Schubert had hoped to return soon, he has no choice but to be patient. "Gotta stay focused," he said. "Gotta stay positive."

This year Schubert has batted at a .318 pace with 122 hits, 12 home runs, 60 RBIs and scored 75 times.

Romero Slams 5 Hits for Washington: The Bats whipped the Muckdogs 10-6 at Lawrence Stadium and Danny Romero had a big hand in the win. The Bats second baseman came to the plate 8 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Romero and a tough day for Batavia. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Romero delivered today -- 5-8 is outstanding in any league. Danny Romero singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th, grounded out in the 13th, singled in the 15th and hit an RBI double in the 17th.

To date this year Romero is batting .298 with 3 home runs.

Big Day for Churchill: Swats 5 Hits: Tom Churchill put on a hitting clinic today as the Kodiaks dumped the Mohawks 14-8 at Mountaineer Park. The California left fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Morgantown pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch." Tom Churchill singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Churchill has collected 134 hits for the Kodiaks this year, 22 of them home runs. He has also netted 57 RBIs and scored 72 runs while batting .346.

Kataoka Receives Injury Update: Team officials for the Syracuse Slammers have revealed that the recent injury to Makato Kataoka will keep him out for 10 months. The 27-year-old right fielder suffered a torn labrum on 07/25/2011. He has not played since.

Kataoka is hitting .272 for the season with 10 home runs, 42 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He has 100 hits in 368 at-bats and played in 99 games.

Bulldogs Star Wrecks One-Of-A-Kind Car: Baltimore star, Marco Perez, is known for his hard-driving play on the field, but after what happened this week, he should probably drive a little more carefully on the roads. The star closer was driving late at night on a winding road and smashed right into a highway barrier. He escaped with only scrapes and bruises and is listed as day-to-day, but the bigger injuries are to his wallet and his pride--the car, which was completely totaled, was a custom-built luxury Bentley valued at half a million dollars.

He angrily declined to take questions as he limped out of an Baltimore-area hospital last night, but his publicist released the following statement: "Marco is happy to be home with his family, and knows how lucky he is to have escaped nearly unhurt. He will be more careful in future, and he knows that cars, unlike people, can always be replaced." Maybe so, but if he wants to be able to replace this one, he may need to drive a hard bargain when he next comes to the negotiating table.

Cardenas Out 3-4 Weeks: The medical report is in: the injury that has kept Washington shortstop Antonio Cardenas out of action since 07/26/2011 will sideline him for another 3-4 weeks. The 36-year-old Cardenas, who has a fractured thumb, said he heals quickly. "I'll be back soon," he said, "and I'll pick up where I left off. "

This year Cardenas is batting .242 with 10 home runs. He has scored 58 runs and driven in 50.

The media is so bleh in OOTP. That Shubert injury is major. It's not just some little thing to be like, "He's gonna have to wait a while longer." What? A while? That's basically a whole season. He's going to miss Spring Training, need to play some minor league baseball to get back in synch and by the time he's caught up, the season will be almost over.

But hey, it's just a while longer.

Muckdogs Combs Blanks Brawlers: Jamie Combs effectively shut down the Brawlers today, blanking them 4-0 on 2 hits, ringing up 6 strikeouts and allowing no walks. The Muckdogs pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.

"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Combs said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."

The Brawlers skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."

So far this season Combs has a 8-10 record, 22 starts, 149 innings, 133 strikeouts and a 3.93 ERA.

Cuesta Twirls Shutout: It was not a good day at the plate for Amigos hitters. Most of them came up empty against Willis Cuesta of the California Kodiaks. He held them to 5 hits and blanked Los Alamos 5-0. Cuesta also chalked up 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in the game at Babylon.

In pitching stats this season Cuesta has rung up 8 wins and 9 losses in 22 games. He has an ERA of 3.95 and has fanned 94 batters in 136.2 innings.

Alvarez Offered in Trade?: Daniel Alvarez might be headed to another team -- that is, if rumors around the New York clubhouse have any merit. The 34-year-old closer has said publicly that he welcomes a trade.

                  Wessel Collects Hit Number 2000:
Hartford's Ron Wessel collected his 2000th career base hit, but Pittsburgh collected the win. The Millers ruined his special day by knocking off the Whalers 9-7. The 33-year-old second baseman reached the milestone by going 2-for-5 in the game.

Career-to-date Wessel is hitting .294 with a total of 161 home runs.

The Maine Guides Win Again, Making it 10 Straight!: The Guides have simply been on fire lately racking up 10 wins in a row. Few fans across Brewers League Baseball will have their team come close to winning so many games in a row this year and Maine Manager, Andrew MacGilledon, urged fans not to take it for granted. "These guys are playing their butts off," said MacGilledon. "I don't know how long it will last but I hope our fans are enjoying it. We sure are!"

Hernandez Hears from Medical Staff: The latest news from the Davenport Brawlers clubhouse is this: second baseman Xavier Hernandez is expected to be out of action for another 6 weeks. He has a strained biceps, sustained on 08/10/2011. Hernandez expressed a bit of relief. "At least now I know," he said.

So far this season Hernandez has hit .239 with 10 home runs, 39 RBIs and and scored 38 times.

Superstar SS Inks Deal with Dinos: Happy times in Los Angeles as the Dinos and star shortstop Marco Lona put the finishing touches on a $82,000,000 contract extension that will keep the 32-year-old in town 5 years longer.

The signing is great news for Los Angeles because players of this caliber are hard to come by.

Lona is currently batting .304 with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs.

Why the players here live longer than in my SP?? I realized that usually the Pitchers start to loose ratings in the early 30s or late 20s... Field players start to loose ratings usually when they reach 33, 34.. There is some good grandads in the league of course. But I often see here that you really enjoy showing off with Pitchers or players over the 30rs :)
