It was an easy one, wasn't it? Thanks! I thought that rating was only for pitchers allowing them!

      • Well, I think I know already to main Ratings needed for a SP, Specialist and Closer, but still doubting about what is the main difference / interesting ratings to look at between, Middle Reliever, Long Reliever and Setup

        Any input?

It's more of a question of how good they are in an overall sense.

Long relievers typically pitch in blowouts, so they don't need to be as good.

Setup men tend to enter late in close games, so them being able to get key outs is essential.

Middle Reliever, Long Reliever= Find the hot hand. What worked last year typically won't the following season. Also you don't need the "blue bar" guys in these roles. The cheap cost effective guys generally perform equal or better.

Setup, Closer= Setup guys are often overlooked cuz of the glory of the closer role (aka- the save) These are your rocks of the bullpen. Mainly blue bar types, but yet don't just go by ratings all the time. I've seen many 7-7-7 fail for some makeup reason. Another note: Watch moral here. Alot of guys want "THE CLOSER ROLE" and end up getting all pissy if they aren't the main dude. Trade them. These are employee's and should be dealt with appropriately.

It's used to for Awards Voting, Hall of Fame Voting and Drafting. Its also and alternative to use to look of stats on players out of game.

Explore it. It's deep. And a great way for you to get to know the past here. Will be important for the Hall of Fame voting and to use things like Park Factors and the Virginia reign to make yourself look intelligent.

                      Uh hard thing...

I just realised that most of you have your best rating pitchers out of the SP... How is that?? I thought your best pitchers have to be your SPs... Except your Closer of course who can give you like 40-50 Ws

Stamina likely plays the biggest role. Most guys with 3 or less can have trouble starting every 5 days. They throw less pitches and last fewer innings because of their lower stamina. There are rare 3 stamina guys in our league that can compete but that goes into...

Number of quality pitches. Anyone with a 3 stamina that is successful as a starter likely has 3+ quality pitches. Jonathan Banana Burns is a prime example of a guy who was successful for a long time with that model. His new team - Death Valley - also has another pitcher in Tom Bell with a similar make up.

Most relievers have only two quality pitches.

I wondered why my SP game gave 3 stars to below average potential but with good stamina and 4 good pitches... Now I understand :) Thanks!

                          • Attention NEWBIES and VETERANS!

In OOTP15, on the Front Office - Possible Free-Agents Page, there is now a new option under "Available Actions." You can now "Offer all minor league Free-Agents contract extensions." This will avoid the mishaps of letting those minor leaguers go in Free-Agency that you forgot to extend.

                            Just FYI.

In 16 there's a screen that tells you all of your Rule 5 eligible players. Versions too late.

I'll pour some St. Ides for my homie.
