Are there any BLB rules against agreeing to an arbitration deal and then trading the player?

I have a couple guys who are in line for big raises next year.
I don't think I'll be able to keep them. My projected budget for 2016 is a whopping $124M!

Someone will have to go, but I don't want them to walk for nothing and I can't deal them now in the middle of a playoff run.

Someone will want a player worth a high arbitration price.

No rule against it, it's just a gamble that if you go through arbitration and you can't move the guy, you're stuck with him. Best bet is to try to trade him before arbitration either during the playoffs or right after.

I agree with this. Unless a guy has completely fallen off, you could get a pretty decent return for a cost controlled guy. Especially given the demands in Free Agency.

We have Martin and Barber in AAA whom potentially will field better than daddy but I do like the 41 years old dudde, nect year will be 42 and he still have it against lefties. Not anymore against RHP though...

I think is time to hand the D# in the OF to the younger generation of Sharks...

As am digging more and more into the OOTP / MLB. Starting to realise that stats are very important. It's not all about the ratings.

I would appreciate your input with this matter.

Is anyone playing a SP stats only game?? Is it useful to be a stats master to improve your playing experience in OOTP?

I remember Z giving a stats monster guy with no so many ratings a shot in the BLB. How that history finished?

Stats dont lie. Consistency is the key and ratings can play into that. There are many factors that go into a player living up to expectations and other players going beyond what the ratings suggest. And then, some guys just never get it and turn into a bust.

Its possible. He may stick at the BLB level and be a starter or bench player. Some guys wont be as sucessful and will be career minor leaguers. The only way you will know is if you give them some playing time at the BLB level if you feel they are ready.

It's like MLB.

Some guys absolutely rake in the minors. Heyward was projected to be an amazing power hitter. He's turned into a high on base defender.

Jay Bruce was once projected to be an all-around better Adam Dunn. That didn't really happen.

Even Alex Gordon was projected to be much more talented than the player he is.

But you also get guys that surprise people. Robinson Cano was never supposed to be the hitter he is.

I think OOTP emulates this well. It's more likely a player is a bust than a rough player becomes a diamond, but either can happen.

I agree. I havent read anywhere where a bench coach makes a big difference, if any.
