I'm okay relinquishing some control to the coaches. We hired them afterall and I like how their ratings and personality can affect outcomes on the field.

If someone doesn't like what they're doing, then they need to look for a replacement.

          • Draft Grades

I've been looking at the Rookie Draft Pool under the BLB tab. I've noticed the grades are super low. No pitcher with a 5 5 5 rating and no batters with a 5 5 5 5 rating either. Are the players ratings considerably lower than they used to be. I've only been around two drafts, but I notice a bunch of players on other rosters with 7s and 8s. Will these ratings go up, or is next year's draft just going to be shit, or do the new grades more or less coincide with 7s and 8s a few years ago.

I thought this may have been discussed before, but I was unsure...

Maybe I'm out of my tree. I wondered if anyone else has noticed this?!

I think they were talking about the players with 7s and 8s coming from other versions, to be fair after playing several solo seasons out of the Top 3-5 I did rarely see Top-Notch caliber players. Yes once in a while someone comes from nowhere and starts to grow as mad, but is not the normal thing.

So they were also saying that when the Veteran ball-punishers hang up their clears then the 5s and 6s players in the league will be awesome.

Draft players based in what you want to do with your team. And remember, the more money your scout has in amateur, the more precise he will be with his ratings potential. That's what Delandis and myself (openly declared) have damn good players out of the Top Rounds in the Draft. But injuries and the dice have their word in this too.

And to conclude (initially) also remember that "4" is average for the BLB as the ratings are 0-8. Average is not gonna bring you rings but Average and something else can give you a .500 season, will see what happens when the veterans hang up their gloves :). After that, bring good players through Draft, trading, FA and look after your system. As the Homegrown talents bring more Cohesion / Chemistry (if you guys allow me the expression) to your team.

              • Thanks for the help. I think looking at the 'old' studs was skewing my perception. I guess I should have kept my two first rounders last draft. Damn!

Are you looking under Rookie Draft Pool B | Rookie Draft Pool P on the HTML? If so, the players currently listed there should be from the most recent draft class that went undrafted. Next year's class won't populate until heading into next season.

                          • Are there any BLB rules against agreeing to an arbitration deal and then trading the player?

I have a couple guys who are in line for big raises next year.
I don't think I'll be able to keep them. My projected budget for 2016 is a whopping $124M!

Someone will have to go, but I don't want them to walk for nothing and I can't deal them now in the middle of a playoff run.

No rule against it, it's just a gamble that if you go through arbitration and you can't move the guy, you're stuck with him. Best bet is to try to trade him before arbitration either during the playoffs or right after.
