After a lot of deliberation in the war room we decided to draft Malik Roberson. As a switch hitting center fielder, he has the potential to be a five tool player and has pretty damn good intangibles. We'll see what he can become in Baltimore.

Thought a lot about him at 14. Nice pick.

It's definitely been harder evaluating talent lately. I think there is a ton of value in the Top 8 and the top of the 2nd last few years.

The whole time I had been targeting Dave Shook not realizing that he was already selected. I think Shook becomes the best hitter of this draft but Malik's versatility should make him pretty valuable as well.

I'm ecstatic that three guys I had rated top 10 are still available.

I believe it. He'd probably hit .450 with 65 home runs a year in your park.

SS Bobby Marrero selected with 1.16. My scout thought he should go lower but honestly I didn't care for most of the guys ahead of him. Plays IF with power???? Sold.

I was praying that if I couldn't trade up, that Marrero would fall to my pick. Great selection.

1.19 is officially on the block.

I have three players I still "like" in this draft but will entertain offers. I won't hold up the draft long though. After Pitt and Dallas pick, I plan on only taking about 10 minutes.

Bit torn here, might take me a little bit. Will entertain trade offers if anyone wants to move up.

                          • I really like the Peller selection...especially going to Pittsburgh.

Peller has almost elite intangibles, 8-8-8 speed, and he has hit .332 with a .996 OPS in four years at USC. However, my scout has him 4-5-4-4-6 and OSA 4-5-5-4-6. He plays CF now but with ratings of 6-5-5, he probably is better suited in the corners. I think his contact rating is a bit low...I mean the guy is hitting .357 this year.

Likely would have been my pick at 1.19 had he lasted.

Thanks Pat, my scout is really high on him and I'm hoping that with a development bump I may have found really good value!

                              • I'm happy to get the hard throwing lefty high schooler Atsushi Abe. We had him as the fifth best pitcher in the draft, and a top 10 talent. He's years away, so we can only hope he develops as planned.
