College success is a great indicator for success in the BLB. I can't disagree with the pick.

Hmm. Not where I thought Z was going.

I like Toste. I probably have him 4 or 5 in the draft. But I'm not sure he had a ton of college success. His best season was supported by an abnormally low BABIP (just as his worst season had a high one). I'm not sure he'll develop plus plus control, though he may not have to. Maybe it's just that I'm not a big movement guy. It's a good pick though. IMO he'll be a very solid #2 or #1B, and possibly sooner than later.

Overall... this pick "tostes" pretty good.

Toste's control is scary, but he has great intangibles, solid stamina, some velocity, a plus sinker and a plus plus change-up and a 72% GB.

If his control gets to even just 4, he's going to be very good.

Based on Z's pick I am willing to move #4 if there is still any interest. I will likely have a pick in sometime tomorrow if I still own it.

He's not an ace control guy, I agree.

Not sure about "scary." OSA has him a 6 for control. Despite control being his least developed attribute so far, he walked 2.48 batters per 9 innings as a senior. If he puts up a number like that one in the BLB, I'd feel quite pleased.

My scout had him #5, but love his movement. Might have to take your time with him cuz of his like of advanced ratings in terms of control(decent amount of innings against minor league hitting), but I see a good deal of upside of he pans out.

I had two groups of players. (1-2) then (3-7) sort of wedged together. I see nothing wrong with that pick overall.

Scary relative to giving up 3 first round picks, that was all.

If you didn't trade up for him, I was going to.

Los Alamos decides to hang onto the 4th overall pick and selects HS pitcher Zach McCormick.

OSA has him as a decent option and our scout is very high on him, rating him as the third best choice in the draft behind Fajardo and Engstrom.

He's going to take some cooking, but we aren't in a rush right now.
