  • Down and Dirty Predictions 2010 (IL Version)

    *** Wildcard

    Stout

    Death Valley 91-71
    Washington 90-72 ***
    Seattle 74-88
    Morgantown 70-92

The race will come down to the wire with Wash & DV, but even after a final 4 game road trip against Wash, DV sneaks it out. I really, really, REALLY want to start saying Seattle and Morgantown have hope, but nothing told me this offseason things will be different.

    Bock

    Windy City 90-72
    Carolina 87-75 ***
    Davenport 80-82
    Los Alamos 67-95

This has got to be getting boring for WC. Despite a championship hangover and Carolina's young kids getting a year older, WC will capture an unbelievable 8th divisional title. Carolina makes a shocking run for the wildcard(One game playoff to Philly). Davenport lost more then it gained and Los Alamos in a long rebuild.

    Porter

    Batavia 87-75 t
    Philly 87-75 t
    Balt 81-81
    Cali 63-99

Ok here we go. Philly spends half the season trying to get his team in order after the offseason of 1000 trades, goes on a late run to catch Bat who blew a 7 game lead in the final month ends up losing in extra innings heartbreaker in 16 innings. Then in the one game playoff to Car , Philly loses 11-1. Balt & Cal will watch with horror.

I'm at work. I usually have to whip these out.

Since my kids are always on the home CPU I end up stuck on the IPAD and its really tough for me to type anyway on that little thing. At home I get more time to dig a little.

I wasn't being facetious. I mean you broke down game 163 and then the following one-game wild card.

Yeah this is assuming existing team. In no way does this predict the mid season trades that I'm sure you'll wind up doing.

I have alot of parity in this years version. Not alot of difference anymore between the IL & DL.

Depends on what I see going on. Offensively we might struggle or be awesome. It really hinges on Fujii's health and I'm thinking it's about time for Sanchez to do the normal 3rd year=awesome season in Baltimore thing.

I think we are more 85-87 wins. But hey it's my team and you know what my park does for lefties.

Or are you about to find out???

Washington DVS is such a Yankees and Red Sox rivalry. It will be another wild ride. I feel bad for Seattle and Morgantown that have to compete with that. One hell of a challenge for them.

As a former Bock member it's tough to see WC so dominate. That division used to be so wide open every year.

Never thought of it like that - Boston vs NY. Who's NY? Pat probably with all the titles.

As for the funclown prediction that we're the best in the IL. We need Jimmy Jones to be even half of the Stout Slugger he was 2 years ago. We need Cash, Salcedo and Yama to up their games. And most importantly, I need Travis Anthony to become the beginnings of the elite hitter I think he is as a rookie and for Tyler Clarke to post a sub 4.00 ERA as another rookie.

If we can't hit (again) then we're a .500-.575 baseball team. That might not be enough even with a 2nd WC.

I bet Pat runs away with the division (8+ wins) if we can't hit.

Well when it was Virginia, I always thought of them as the Yankees because they were the evil empire. I guess now that you moved the team your roles have switched.

No way the hitting is that bad. Batavia and Windy City have both experienced that during this decade. Shit Pawtucket had an 11 game losing streak in 94 with a MONSTER lineup. Why? Well for some reason for two months these studs couldnt hit/ Luckily we pulled a few trades and it bounced us out of our rut. (Still fell short to Indy)

In my heart of hearts I believe each team gets a modifier to start the year off. Think its to bring some sort of "real life" to the game.

Windy City won it last year with arguable a much weaker lineup then he had earlier in the decade.
