2009 BLB Amateur Draft Beginning Monday 11/24

Well, perfect. We pick our guy, draft rolls back, didn't hear anything back while waiting for Mike but didn't see a clock up so figured I had time to wait. Eventually the pick auto fires and I get a scrub, linty style.

Jake's issue was my fault. Also recieved some messages people are out of town. Draft is stopped and rolled back to 2.1. The timer won't go back on until Saturday AM. The draft is still 3 sims away, counting today. So we'll sim Thursday, Sun, and then Tues (when the draft goes in).

You can still manually pick, and if it doesn't work just post in this thread and send a PM to either Brad or I.

Pawtucket shifts gears a bit and drafts Mcdade's butt buddy Chaz "the alter boy" Haenlien with our second round pick. Scout saw some potiental in him, but this was more about keeping the heat alive that's typical in the U's lockeroom.

So took a chance on high school star, Fred Griffith. Definitely a stats pick because my scout hates him. But I figure there is no way he's THAT horrible with the consistency he's shown at the plate over his high school career. Plus we'll move him back to the infield where's he much more comfortable defensively.

However, I am wondering how in the world does he have a 5 outfield arm but a 3 infield? WTF?

A bunch of picks just went off the board and we are now late into Round Three with Pittsburgh on the clock.

At 3.15 Washington selected MR Amir Nelson. The 6'7 right-hander is rated 5-4-6 potential from my scout and 4-5-7 from OSA. Throws three pitches, six on stamina and his fastball hits 92 MPH. However, he never played baseball during High School years. I'm guessing he was on the basketball team.
