  • BLB 30th Anniversary Team

DENVER - In anticipation of the 2008 season and 30th Anniversary of the Brewers League's modern day rise from its dark past, the Denver Press has announced a league-wide panel discussion and vote to select the BLB 30th Anniversary Team in which 30 All-Time greats will be awarded a spot on the honorary roster.

"It is a great honor to work alongside the Denver Press, the BLB and its owners in selecting the greatest of our athletes over the past 30 seasons," said Denver owner Todd Volmer. "My father watched players like Russ McEvoy and Harry Keppel play the game in a way that exemplified the very best of this league."

The Denver Press announced the roster would be formulated in such a way that allows several of the very best be nominated, seconded and eventually voted to the team.

30 Players & Managers will be selected once voting closes. In all, there will be two players at each following position (1B, 2B, 3B, SS, C), six in the outfield, four right-handed starters, four left-handed starters, two relievers/set-up men, two closers and two managers.

To begin, Denver General Manager Carlos Hernandez will be opening discussion forums to the other league General Managers to discuss, nominate and second the election of players at each position. Once enough players & managers have been nominated to be voted on, polls will open allowing the league representatives to vote on the players. The players & managers with the most votes to fill out each of the positions listed will be selected to the team.
