Couple serviceable pitchers out there but we take SS Rogelio Padilla. Kid can field and might be able to hit.

If Clay could resign Jerry Daly then I've gotta be in decent shape.

SS Milledge was 3 on my list. Rare to see power SS these days. My scout loves his defense but I wasn't in love with his arm. Scout has his POT 4-5-7-5-4 ..ll maybe we take power hitters for granted in Pawtucket but he seems like a late career Geoff Scott.
My scout has his POT 5-4-6-4-4. All those fours kinda scared me so I gave a good long look at Nara, but the allure of the big bat, Milledge's intangibles and the fact that he was a college player instead of an international led to me going Milledge.

Nara looks pretty good though, and man, I love those flexibility guys who play a ton of positions. In my first single player league I had a guy who had incredibly high fielding at every infield and outfield position but catcher and one outfield position. He even had some ability to PITCH. Never saw another guy like him.

I had Padilla and Bourne, the next couple picks, up there with these guys too. Padilla could easily end up being a better SS than Milledge if my scout is right about him.

Spec and then me. We have had some interest in 1.20 and will probably deal it. Anyone else who wants it, nows the time.

After a trade to move up six spots, we took SP Jimmy Schiefelbein.

We think Jimmy is a great get for us here. Raul Sanchez likes him a lot (think he's a front line arm) and Jimmy has as close to the tools I look for in an arm.

His control is top notch and I expect that his velocity will continue to climb. It's gone from the 83 mph high to 90 in four years. If Sanchez's predictions are correct, I expect it will climb up some more in the minors - yes, even going so far as saying it will go up to 92 or 93.

My last favorite pitcher after Sid Bourne was taken by Philly.

Good pick. I looked at him, but decided I have enough arms and can wait until 2.2 to pick or trade down/out again.

I had hoped Bourne would fall 2 more spots.

Bourne was the one. I know you don't move out of that pick if he's there.

On my list for early round 2. Reminds me of David Acre from Dallas. Getting that stuff to improve will be the key, but like the pick.

David Arce is high praise. But Arce spent three years in the minors adding 5 mph to his fastball. I hope Jimmy finds some of that magic.

2.1 Pawtucket takes the last plus contact hitter on the board. Least that's what my scout said?

Liked this guy a lot as well. Good pick. If I could have had three first round picks, he's the third one.

Good pick. I had him at 1.20 as a possibility. Shopping 2.2 if anyone wants to offer.
