2006 BLB Amateur Draft - Starting Monday 04/14

A greedy part of me wanted Murillo because he would join his former FSU championship teammates in Verba and McPherson.

No I didn't purposely choose McPherson bc he played with Verba but once I realized that, I thought it was pretty cool they won two titles together. Dave Fountain (Denver A) was also part of that team.

Also like Pat mentioned, Murillo missed pretty much all of 2005 which might have prevented McP from winning a third title. I also think it's interesting that as good as Verba and Jamie were, it was Murillo that won BOY.

Instead we add USC's premiere hitter and 2005 BOY. Let's see if Perkins and his Trojans can stop the Seminoles from wining another with Murillo leading the way.

Love this kid. My scout has one OF rated ahead, but picking Perkins here was a good move.

It's a good OF draft. Not the hottest pitching draft. That's good, we need some more scoring in this league.

I'm assuming I know who the other guy is if it isn't Murillo. My scout had him ahead too but I preferred what Perkins brings to the table.

Nope, my scout has another player besides Murrilo, but he loves power hitters.

My scout doesn't see the first pitcher til pick 6, but people over reach for pitching lot.

To me Perkins was a solid pick. Scout had him POT as 6's across the board.

There is one guy in particular that I'm really surprised didn't go top 3.

I think this draft is pretty horrible at the top. I see three good hitters, all OFs, then a huge dropoff. Best pitcher went first overall, and he's only projected to be a future #3.

My scout rates Murillo the best, Perkins not far behind. I probably would've gone Perkins given Murillo's injury history.

That's wild because since the introduction of just one scout for OOTP (I've only had two scouts in that time), I've never seen my scout so excited about the depth of a draft.

                  EVER.

But then again I only have $1M put into scouting so.......he probably wrote up the scouting reports based on few ESPN Top Ten Plays of the Week highlights.

                      EVER.

I have mucho dollars put into amateur scouting and my scout loves this draft.

It's very scary. I was close to taking someone else third overall. Wrote it in. Didn't hit send. I chose Perkins because he was safer. He looked ready. This other guy may or may not be available at 1.11 and even then I worry he's being rated too high.

But if my scout is right, someone could jackpot this guy.

Also this is a new scout for me though he's my best rated scout since the first scout I ever had. He's also a former Denver draft pick who spent his entire career (a short one) in Denver. He couldn't possibly do us wrong, right?

Anyway I took Perkins because he's safe. But I see a lot of names my scout is raving over and I wouldn't be surprised if I could end up grabbing a couple in 1.11 and then 2.3.

We've jacked up our scouting a bit in Pawtucket also.

My scout isn't in love with this draft, but he doesn't hate it either.

Great season to shore up your OF in the future. A couple of mid rotation starters. Overall power hitters looks average. Relief pitchers are about thinnest draft might of ever seen.(who cares)

                        Typical 2.5-3 round draft.

I'm going 90% off stats, 5% OSA, 5% my scout. Lowest I've ever spent on scouting and my scout has only a "good" amateur rating.

                          Should be interesting.

Stats? Except for a tell here and there the OPS, WHIP, ect always appear jacked up due to the poor competition. I may look at the stats more for trending really and that doesn't even do any good for INTL players with 52 at bats or 29 innings pitched.

Then again I'm 0-3 in Brewmaster competition so I could be missing important things.

Yeah, but if you are comparing two players from the same league, it should work...right?

Again, I'm not excited about this draft. My picks are available.
