I'm pretty happy with my draft. We didn't have too much to work with picking last in each round. I'm disappointed I couldn't trade up for one of the tier 2 OFs (Churchill 1.12, Oldham 1.13, or Falls 1.17) and that neither of my tier 3 OFs (Thomas 2.2 or Wright 2.3) fell a little further.
SPs Stroble (1.23) and Hinkle (2.1) were the top 2 pitchers on our board at the top of round 2 and both were gone in a weak pitching draft.
The last position player we were interested in coming up to get from 2.13 was 2B Wil Rodriguez, but DAV got him at 2.6.
That left us taking 3 young arms in the 1st 3 rounds and getting Boatner for 1.24.
Recap:
1.24 (Traded to CAR for SS DJ Boatner) - looking at this draft, I thought Boatner, the #35 prospect by OSA, was better than anyone I'd get at the end of round 1. Yes, he's 25, but I don't see a middle IF in this draft better than him at the moment other than SS Andy Garcia who went 1.5 to Philly. I think Garcia will be one of the best players in this draft, but just like Boatner, he has a lot of growing to do. Boatner will be ready for the BLB next season, and maybe even earlier, if Tex Watts packs his bags this season.
2.13 (Acquired for 2.24 from CAR) - we move up from the bottom of the 2nd to the middle of the 2nd in the Boatner deal and select SP Willis Guardian. My Scouting Director had him the 26 best prospect just behind Hinkle and Stroble. I think they're better players at the moment. Guardian is 7-5-6 by OSA and 7-5-5 by my scout. He looks to have a plus fastball and forkball, an average slider, high stamina, nice velocity on his pitches and a strong K:BB ratio. However, he's lazy and has an extremely poor 45% GB%.
2.16 (Acquired for a 2007 2nd and 4th from SYR) - we trade back into the 2nd to pick SP Dave McKenzie. When the draft started, he was still listed as a closer. Once the draft started, Rice changed him to a starter. He's started 19 games at Rice and has a 3.00 ERA as a starter. OSA and my scout both have him as a 6-6-5 pitcher. He already has a nice cutter and is improving his curveball. He recently added a change-up, which should keep him a SP (or make him a MR) in the BLB. He's a hard worker, has great stamina and keeps the ball in the ballpark.
3.8(Acquired from TOR for SP Doug Rich) - Thanks to our neighbors from the north for the high 3rd rounder, which we used on young HS SP TJ Davis. OSA has him as a 6-4-4 starter, we see him as a 6-4-5 starter. He throws 6 pitches (4 of them well), nice velocity, and terrific intangibles. He'll have the next 7 years to figure it all out... or not.
We went pitching heavy, which was just because we took best available at every spot and got unlucky a bit with position players going a bit earlier than expected.
What does everyone think of their drafts?

If you are on list pick make sure you have players on your list. It kills the timer when you don't and if we don't finish in other day the Tuesday sim will be delayed.
These teams are on list:
LAD (none on list)
Davenport (8)
Indy (1)
Maine (3)
Washington (10)
This is the longest we've gone making list picks. We got the last guy on my list in the 5th round. Not sure what it means but something is different.
