Definitely some more deals accomplished here. Veterans always moving. Couple of these guys took longer deals so we don't have to deal with them next year.
Denver took a safe approach with Zamarida. Might be too early to really offer an extension of any kind, but it's at a lower rate than he originally demanded so we'll take the risk at one year. If he hits well, then we can consider similar deals in the future.
It's a lot of money for an older pitcher with a bad injury history, but it's money that would be lost either way, so might as well use it on a guy that could just as easily be the best pitcher in the league next season if he stays healthy.

I fully expect an 11 month injury in spring training. But like you said, the money's not gonna do anything for us anyway. Next year the deal drops significantly and we're done.

Damn you, Jistic! I'm so used to living on a budget, the thought just doesn't occur to me to go big (even when I have money). Congrats. Please pitch him against Mississippi every chance you get.
