I agree... however... that doesn't change my belief that this was the motivation. No other logical reason to put yourself further above the luxury tax.Philly Freedom

Record in one-run games 19-32, .373 PCT
The only stud pitchers we have are in our bullpen, and both of them are blowing games left and right. I got a few guys with ERA's 3+ points up from last year. It's contagious.
We can hang with most teams, but our bullpen will blow any lead late. If the game isn't on the line they pitch fine. Pussies.
Good news is I got three farm hands playing damn good. If Rivera comes back and is himself next year with another year of seasoning and perhaps some free agent help I think there's hope.WINDY CITY PLAYBOYS

4-3? Could be better but I'm not complaining. Just want to stay healthy.
Wallace has tanked a bit and we may have to take some pressure off of him and let him hit further down the lineup. We are going to need his bat in the playoffs. Speaking of playoffs, we are now just 10 wins away from earning our first division title in 12 years.
Feels good.

They don't appear to have pitched in too many games, so I can't blame it on being tired. I don't know what it is, but if you find out the answer, let me know because I've been trying to make patch work of my bullpen for years.
...Also, Denver is nearing respectability again. Onto .500!Denver Bulls

Just looking through the history, and it looks like this will be Sato's first chance at the playoffs in his career. No wonder he's on fire, he's focused.

The end of our season:
Denver Brode Hurt, Out 3 Months
Friday, September 11th, 1992: It took the Dallas team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Denver Brode won't simply play through elbow inflammation after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Gamblers-Snappers game. At first, it looked like Brode might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 3 months.
To date this season, Brode has a record of 14 wins and 3 losses and a 3.07 ERA. He has appeared in 30 games and struck out 174 in 187.2 innings.Dallas Snappers
