He walks more guys, he strikes out less guys, he gives up more hits.

I feel, if you had Bayer and Matt had Olivo... you'd be saying the exact things I'm saying right now.

Not true at all... I promote performance over blind allegiance to stats. But... use stats all you want... he gets guys out and doesn't let them score. That = Closer.

That's what I'm talking about, performance.

        Bayer's performed better.

Ok. Well, I hope 12 of the other 21 Owners don't vote based on who the Owner is.

            Ivan Olivo

            50/50 SV, 0.81 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 10.73 K/9, 3.12 BB/9, 3.44 K/BB, 5.88 H/9, .280 BABIP

            Ken Bayer

            40/41 SV, 1.85 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 11.12 K/9, 2.51 BB/9, 4.42 K/BB, 5.82 H/9, .285 BABIP

            A. I don't see how Olivo wins in a "landslide"

            B. His stats aren't as good as Bayer's

            C. What is performance if not stats?

              A) He wins in a landslide because he was clearly the best bullpen performer of the season. It's not that he was miles ahead of Bayer, but he was better and deserves all of the 1st place votes... hence a landslide.

              B) False. Their numbers are comparable in almost every line that Bayer leads... however, the ones that Olivo lead (SAVES, ERA, and K's) he leads by a substantial margin.

              C) Zero blown saves in 60 consecutive opportunities. That's performance. He takes the ball and closes the door. I don't care if he walks the bases loaded then K's the side... he shuts the door.

Why do stats only matter to you when they support your arguments?

So stats matter, but only when they help Olivo.

                Also a 4.42 K/BB compared to a 3.44 K/BB rate is massive.

Oh yeah, it's not "false" either. Bayer's stats are better. It's a fact.

What does last year have to do with this year?

I'm not feeding the trolls anymore. I have Tiger Blood and Adonis DNA. I'm winning! I see that you're trying to make me look like the braggadocios asshat so that people will leave my players off the ballot, but I won't feed it.

                    Whatever.

Have fun winning another award based off hype rather than stats.

Gosh Clay really is acting like a jerk lately talking about his players. I wonder if I should vote for any of them?

Clay, I will say this. I would vote for your players before I voted for Linty's players.

If that means anything to you.

Kind of like saying "I would take a BJ from Brooklyn Decker over a punch in the nuts from Nancy Grace."

                            But I'll take it.

                              Wait........

Bayer has more than double Olivo's ERA, significantly less saves and Olivo hasn't blown a save all year?
