            Washington Bats - SIM 15 - (46-45; 2nd)
            1-0 @ Baltimore: W 10-5
            2-1 @ Los Alamos: L 1-5, W 4-2, W 7-5
            0-3 @ Windy City: L 3-5, L 3-7, L 0-3

After winning series on the road against Baltimore and Los Alamos, I get swept by Windy City. I don't know what it is, but the Playboys have had our number this year.

            The Good
After moving back to the starting rotation Manny Duran hasn't been half bad. This week he pitched 5.1 shutout innings and picked up a win. Hopefully he can produce like he did last year and give me a good shot to compete every fifth day.

            The Bad
What the fuck is up with my bullpen? They rarely get over worked but still, they can't get it right. Both my setup men and #1 MR have WHIPs over 1.50. Might need to make some changes here sooner than later.

            The Injured
Another OF injured. A week after losing MAP for two months, which may have been a blessing in disguise, this week Larry Fitzsymons goes down for five weeks with a high ankle sprain. However, this does clear up more ABs for Barnes and Reyna, who I shopped heavily the past week IRL, because my OF was too crowded. You remove MAP and Fitz, well, now you can some opportunities boys!

            The Minors
            Really doesn't mean much...but my Triple-A team is 60-29, 1st place...my Double-A team is 56-33, 1st place....my Single-A team is 49-40, 3 1/2 games back.

            What's Next?
The road trip continues...three at California then I do the Stout tour, starting with four in D.C. against the 3rd place Mohawks. Pretty much a make or break sim. If I go 1-6 or 2-5 or something, I'm probably selling before the deadline. If I go 6-1 or 5-2 or something of that fashion, I'm probably buying at the deadline.

That and the fact that Virginia has had probably 2 significant injuries in 1 1/2 years now. Its tough to play a team with that much talent, and who is always at 95% peak production at all times. Its surprising how durable his players are considering how much he steals.

If my guys so much as think about stealing a base....they have back spasms. Ask Ivan Garcia.

I'm not surprised at all. I figured this would be a very similar season to '91 for you and when you were still, around the same level as a few other teams, you knew water find it's level. And the Colonials level is high.

If I was just a fan. One of those computer-generated fans that attend games and provide some merchandising money and help teams reach sellout figures or care that the unsigned free agent with zero BLB experience is Extremely Popular, I would hate the Colonials. I would hate them so bad. I would talk about how they are ruining the game. I would roll my eyes every time one of their players won a Player of the Week Award or filled one of the All-Star spots. I would write a blog about them, about their owner, about their GM and their fans. And then, I would watch the Brewmasters because it's hard to not watch good baseball. Damn them.

Clay could have added us into that graphic since he swept us last sim too.

We are below .500 and have now made the Bock more interesting. We really need to start playing well especially when we have to play Windy City, Carolina and Los Alamos in the next 2 weeks.

It would be nice to have a cushion on our own division that way we could sit back and enjoy the real show aka the Ale division race.

It would appear past 3 seasons Carmen has been standing ON the plate to the tune of 62 times.

I've had 4 significant injuries just this season. Yes, last year I was ridiculously blessed, but this year has been much tougher. My guys do seem to get less day-to-day stuff, but I think it's because I rest my guys properly. I use defensive replacements. And I don't overwork my arms.

Plus, perhaps most importantly, I don't hold onto guys who are a major injury risk. And, if I do, I put them in positions to succeed. For example, Woodbury has had some injuries (including losing a month this season) in the past playing CF. So... I moved him into RF - the smallest area to cover in our park - and paired him with a speedy guy in CF to make him cover less ground.

As far as steals... most base-running injuries are on batted balls, not steals, so I don't think there is a connection in game.
