  • Rank 'Em: Franchise Cornerstone

    Been slacking on these...

    Here's today's concept....

The BLB goes bankrupt TODAY... the league is contracted into 10 teams. Every player in the league goes into a Draft Pool. Same age and skill level they are TODAY. They keep their current contract. They're popularity is unchanged.

    Based on that....

Top 10 Draft Picks in the new dispersal draft....

    RANK 'EM!!!!
    The Great One!

    To many rings to count...

    1. Pancho Herrera SP - #1 overall pitcher and only 24 years old? Easy pick.

        Do a Top 10.

I agree though that it's probably Pancho... but some might be able to make a case for someone who still has cheap team controlled years left.

This is Clay's secret way to see how many Virginia players we can name onto this team!

Either that or the league is folding. My list later.

There's only enough room on this horn for my lips... I'll do the tooting.

I actually came up with it because I was thinking about the concept of contraction. We're not heading that way... just crossed my mind apropos to nothing.

If I had to guess, I'd say your mind went... Maine... Expos... Contraction.

              Syracuse Slammers - BLB

I'm still working on my list.... but I think I've decided this so far....

                      - #1 (for me) has to be Hector Chavez. I don't think he's the best player available... but he may be the best Middle Infielder in the entire BLB universe right now and they're not easy to find.

                      - I can't include any C's or 1B's.... way too easy to find in this league. Not worth using a Top 10 pick on.

                      - I'm debating on using a Top 10 spot on Ki-hyeon Lim. Definitely unproved... but looks like the real deal and talk about return on investment. Hasn't even broken his BLB cherry yet.

The fact that nobody put Geoff Scott on this their lists is shameful.

I had him #9 to start off, but I bumped him when I revised the list.

I was going to say something, but until I came up with a list of my own I felt like I didn't have a right.

But, no matter how much Syracuse is the black sheep of the BLB... the dude's only 26.

If people are gonna rank Chavez that high and not have Scott on the list, I'm confused. Is it the 3 year age difference? Scott is a better player than Chavez. People may think otherwise and that's fine but I don't see how you can have one on the list and not the other.
