A quick pimp for a guy that's not on the ballot:

    Crafty ol' Pat Tomlinson

Acquired from Baltimore in 1984, Tomlinson quickly tore his labrum (within two weeks of coming to the Syracuse organization) and missed the next 13 months. Given up for dead and unable to put away hitters with the pure stuff he once had, Tomlinson revamped his craft and learned to outsmart hitters with control and... junk. After flaming out in a September 1987 callup, many scouts gave up on Tomlinson a second time, but with a name like Pat, Tomlinson would not get the hint and leave, making it back to the majors in 1989 to stay.

Still only 27, Tomlinson is having the best year of his career. Although he's only pitched 20 innings, falling short of the computer requirements to be on the ballot, Tomlinson has allowed only 1 run all year, sporting a 0.45 ERA.

Find a spot for the lunch pail working man. Find a spot for Pat.

This will likely be the first ASG without a representative from Denver. No one deserves to go in.

Rojas needs to pick up some votes to beat out Jerry Daly. I understand Daly plays for Virginia but Rojas has been lights out.

          CF Rojas: 8 votes

          .339/.410/.484, 4 HR's, 40 RBI's, 28 BB, 1 error in 147 chances

          CF Daly: 9 votes

          .287/.359/.459, 3 HR's, 39 RBI's, 34 BB, 2 errors in 164 chances

Yeah, Rojas deserves it over either of the Virginia players.

Daly's SB and 3Bs are off the charts. He's having an All-Star season.

He deserves to be an all-star...rookie or not.

Well, to be fair, you're never going to give my guys credit. But, I don't know where the voting is right now (I haven't voted yet), so I have to do the research.

Well whoever loses maybe can sneak in with the managers pick. I think 4 OF's would be proper for the game.

I didn't take into consideration Daly's 26 swipes. I'm just excited that Rojas exploded onto the scene. I'm not sure if he'll go the way of Marin and take a dip (of course he will) but the rook is a big reason we're over .500 (until the next sim).

Rojas has a better wOBA, OPS+, AVG, OBP, OPS.

So yes, this time, I'm not going to give Daly the credit over Rojas.

Your comment was "he's no Rojas"... I'd argue that the reigning IL New Brew and player with comparable and in some ways superior stats is the bar... not the other way around.

I don't know where voting is right now... but the Top 5 OF's get in before Manager's Picks, so I'd have to guess they're both in the running.

Nobody deserves to be pimped on a crappy team like mine but I thank those that voted for Doug Bryant. He is having a solid year and developing nicely. He also seems to be Windy City plauge resistant which is woth a nod unto itself.
