Lol, I'm just trying to run an honest program. Like last year, don't pay any attention to me.

BTW- 'Hotwire' only allowed 11 hits last start. The type of effort you expect with your n#2 starter. Can PLEASE put this heat thrower against my team as much as possible.

But you're right, because of the great work of negligence in regular exports by Squint during the '78 season and off-season, it really layed the framework for this is franchise to be the best the IL has ever seen.
Good point. Your hands were tied. You had to make a lot of changes.

Trading away Nick Latham in his prime for three guys who never contributed a single thing to the Washington Bats, ever, for example.

That was a completely necessary move.

Good lord, I didn't realize just how bad that trade was. That has to be up there with the Wessinmouse and GIGGAS trades.

I'd bet you that he finishes the year with an ERA under 4 for me and double digit wins, but you were too much of a coward to accept my first bet proposal, so I won't bother.

Speaking of bad trades, wow I saw Wesinmouse traded a young Theodore to Windy City for decling veterans. Lol, I would of voided that one if I was commish.

Sometimes you have to make sacrifices as a franchise to win a title. And sometimes you win two titles.

The only other person who knows what that is like, Andrew, isn't you, so I can see why you wouldn't understand.

GIGGAS traded Tim Nathan to Baltimore for an outfielder who hit .194 in two seasons in Virginia.

Wessinmouse traded Theodore to Windy City for a couple crappy old guys, and dealt Pateshall for nothing, while throwing in millions of dollars for no reason.

We kicked him out after he tried to trade four entire drafts for Joe Sierra, and then vulgarly threatened Sully after the ridicule started.

You dealt the best player in the league for a couple fungo bats.

It would be like the Cardinals trading Pujols to Milwaukee for Yuniesky Betancourt and LaTroy Hawkins.

I saw it. I spent a day looking at old deals. Washington could of been the next Maine with that deal.

And for the record, I really don't think that Latham trade was that bad.

I traded Nick Latham and a scrub RP for Bill Gillespie (he was Carolina's top pitching prospect at the time), Terry Mayfield (young SP), Miguel Rohena (young RP) and two draft choices, 2nd and 5th round.

I later flipped Gillespie for Dan Hogan, who was a monster for me. Actually played longer in D.C. then Latham played in Carolina. Huge part of the team that won the title in 1983. That year Hogan hit 102 RBI in 136 games...while Latham hit 74 RBI in 156 games...I then traded Mayfield for a 3rd round pick.....I later traded Rohena and two other minor league RPs who never made the show and are now out of baseball, for slugging 3B Tacito Rogado...who I then traded for a 4th.

So...I essentially traded Nick Latham, at 33-years-old, with two years left on his contract for Dan Hogan, a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th.

                              ---

Romano Gonzalez and Joe Sierra would have brought a title to the Mayhem.

Knowing Wesinmouse the way I did, he would of flipped those players within 5/6 sims so no Mayhem would not have a title.
