    New Sheriff in town?????

Jerry Morgan throws his third consecutive CG win. Morgan and Magness are really picking up the slack for a strange season out of Pancho. Pancho is playing really well, but he's running into fantastic pitching performances on the other side.

A 3- month injury has all but ended Abe's career in Baltimore and maybe it has ended his career entirely. Quietly, Batavia has caught us in the standings. Hopefully, we catch ourselves from this slide.

They didn't catch you quietly... they caught you by doing something you couldn't.... beating good teams.

                    Batavia is 14-3 in one-run games. I don't think that's sustainable.

I picked Batavia as WC winners, they always play well against you, and you didn't win your series in Baltimore either so, I'm not surprised.

Not a knock on Matt, because I really do believe he's got the 3rd best team in the IL, but they did need two, 5-run, 9th innings rallies to beat Windy City.

Its not going to be that easy most of the time.

What a strange week for the Colonials. We were really awful all in all. Got two sterling pitching performances from Magness and Morgan and a Pancho game that would normally be a win, only to get out-dueled. We swept Philly with great pitching and no hitting. We salvage a Game 3 win in Batavia only to have Woodbury go down on what was described as an "unbelievable play" in the play-by-play with 1 out in the 9th.

So, Doorbell gets June off and all but guarantees the end of his string of Stout Sluggers and, most likely, All-Star Game appearances.

Guess it's time to see if Chavez and Maeda are ready to take the reigns of this team in preparation for our future without Woodbury (after '93).

Our biggest issue is we've been carrying 4 OFs and don't have anyone ready to come up. Lonnie Scott will likely move over to RF for the month, but I'm undecided whether I'll give Nelson all of the starts in LF or if I'll let Doug MacPherson, who's hitting like a man, shag 'em out there.

Glad I have a nice lead in the Stout... but wish I didn't play Wilmington 7 times before Woodbury comes back.

I'd love to see what he's capable of on a good team.

I guess that knocks Pittsburgh off the list.
