    4-2 (21-17 overall)

    1-2 vs Morgan
    3-0 vs. Bats

    Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

    - Curt Tanner in his second start gives up 6 hits, 3 more of them HR's. So far in 2 starts he's pitched 7.2 innings, given up 10 hits, with 6 of those being jacks. The kid has dominated AAA but still has some decent growth according to my scout. He's getting 2 starts this week...time to put up or be sent back down.

    What A 9th

So we play one of the worse teams in the league and are 3 outs away from being swept as we trail Morgantown 4-1 in the 9th. What happens then...single, walk, single, walk, walk, strikeout, single, walk (winning run comes home)...game over. Amazing.

    Patience

In days of past our hitting BB/K ration was horrible. This week we had 33 walks, 40 K's...we will take that.

    Control

In days of past our pitching BB/K ratio was even worse. This week we had 58 K's, and 18 BB's...we will take that.

    The Pen

Finally a few of them are waking up. Here are some scary numbers for opposing teams though.

    Crossman - 20 games, 18.1 IP, 0.00 ERA, 20 K
    Bayer - 17 games, 18.1 IP, 0.98 ERA, 0.49 WHIP

Also this last week Petro finally woke up and went 5 games without giving up a run, dropping his ERA to 4.29. If he calms down and starts throwing up nice numbers again those three are going to be tough to hit.

    The Future

Are we a top tier team...no...but I'm very happy to be where we are. We have a stable nucleus that will be together for a while as we only have one starter over 30...SP Nathan Athey.

    Next Up

    3 at Windy City
    3 vs. Virginia

Talk about six tough games. We seem to give Virginia fits but they will be looking for revenge after our opening weekend series and Windy City always beats us.

Awesome...because Coville refuses to be demoted. Now it's really time to see if Tanner can play ball.

Unless someone wants an awesome pitcher with 5-5-5 ratings for a bargain price of $2 mil! Please ignore his prior stats...we promise he can pitch.

5-1 including 3 x-inning wins (one 16 inning marathon). Whatever they're drinking in the bullpen, I wish they'd share it with the rest of the team.

I did my lineups, made some call-ups yesterday and...wow, if this team can somehow remain afloat and make the playoffs, I better get a first place vote for GM of the Year from every one of your fuckers.

I now have over 50% of my lineup made up of backups. 5 of 9 players. Gone are Zamarida, Browning, Seltzer, Borkholder and Washington. In their place? Steward, Lynch, Rancourt, Gore and Montero.

            Yea...

Baltimore Bulldogs (23-15, 1st in Porter)

              0-3 at Virginia
              1-2 at Wilmington

Ate a couple of helpings of crow for this past week. Its not like the games were completely out of reach (as some make it out to be) as we lose three more games by one run. Despite the low point, we are still tied for the 2nd best record in the BLB. Our offense has yet to come alive late in games in May as it did in April. I'm confident that that will change.

              The Week in Review

              - Power Outage:
I'm going to have to keep a close eye on Kubota's fatigue as there were two games this week where he was, unexpectedly, benched. Combine that, with the fact that Kyoden went 1/15 with 5 K's as cleanup, it doesn't matter how well Loren sets the table.

              - Old Man's Game: I'm hoping that Sato has found his swing, as his performance this year has been average at best. Despite the ass-whoopin' we took, Takanibu went .409/.536/.727 last week. He benefited from the lefty heavy lineup that Virginia threw at us last week.

-The MF Dutch, Man: We lost a game in Wilmington that that was simply disgusting. We are up 11-7 going into the bottom of the 8th. We put in our resident Dutchman and reliever, Pleun Schulenberg, only to watch him and the rest of the pen give up six runs. We obviously lose the game and have now given a Stoutette room to talk trash.

              The Injured
None(thank you BLB Gods or alternatively named, Mr. CFO)

              Next

We head back home for one series against a team that always seems to have our number, the Bandits. Then its back to the Stout to face the struggling, Mohawks.

Predictions: 2-1 vs. LOS / 2-1 at MOR

                3-3

We're still putting together some of the best pitching I've seen since I took over this team. I like to credit that to our new pitching coach Kyung-chor Kim, who managed Wilmington last year.

If only we could get the hitting to gel at the same time. We lost 2-0 and 3-0 to California in the last sim, which were clearly winnable games. Losing Nickell was a big loss in itself since it seemed like he was turning it around and upped his average to the .290 level.

We'll be facing Kim's former team this week as Wilmington is visiting the Port. Heading to Philly for a 3 game weekend set. I'll be aiming for a 4-2 sim and hopefully our two recent trades can give us some sort of boost.
