Ok... WTF is up with Wilkerson. I thought he might struggle a bit shifting over to the DL... but mostly it was good natured kidding with Jake... now, I'm starting to wonder what's wrong with the guy.

I was just about to write an article on your psychic ability. That and say I'm sorry for making fun of your trade. You obviously know this game much better than I ever will.

C'mon Linty, you knew something was wrong otherwise you wouldn't have moved him. Same with me and Mapalo. I knew he was out of time so I got what I could at the deadline afraid he'd retire

There's a big difference in thinking his ERA is going to jump to 4-4.15 (which is what I thought he was heading to) and what he's putting up now.
The only huge difference I see is that he's given up a ton more HR's this year than in years past... otherwise, I can't explain it.

That was actually one of the big reasons why I DID trade for him...

I think it worked out fine for both of us. Elliot is now my closer and has 9 saves - eventually he will be my set-up guy. Sanford is good in the pen or as a spot starter, and Villazon was better than anyone I had (not namd Chuck Lindsay) until I rebuilt my rotation and his 8m expires this season.
Mapalo gave you quality playoff starts and cleared 8m off your books a year early - which you needed because of your budget. Like we had talked about back and forth, it was time for Mapalo to get a shot. I needed to get something before he retired, you didn't care if he retired because it cleared his cap number.

Again, I agree. I think it was a deal that not only made sense, at the time, for both teams, it also looks like a good deal today. I knew Elliot would be solid. He was definitely the most attractive piece going back to Hartford. Sanford will probably never have the control to be a BLB regular, but as spot-starter or pen option, you could do a lot worse. Plus, you got two draft picks as well.
And to think...the thread got six pages long with people calling for your head...

Highlight of the week: Gamblers trailing 6-5, bottom of the 14th inning against Maine, man on first with one out, and Ivan Crus drives the first pitch he sees into the gap for an inside the park HR to win it.
In other news, last year's 1st round draft pick (#8 overall) Ricky Celedon is tearing up A-ball at the age of 18 and has been named the #7 prospect in the BLB. Meanwhile 1990's first rounder Gene Crews is hitting .354 in double-A and ranks 25th among BLB prospects. Help is on the way in the OF.

Downhill we go. Pitching hasn't showed up this month. Oh well, better now than later.
But Pawtucket's sure has!!!
Pawtucket 5-1. The one loss by 1 run.
Pitching still n#1 and doesnt seem to giving it up anytime soon. Finally the hitting as with last year heating up. Opio gone, but Murdoch Turcotte & Don "boy toy"Johnston went on a nice tear this week. Team has some tough decisions coming up in the OF. Can't keep all them in the majors.
This is a very flexible team right now. Thought this sim might be a tough one. Had to sit some guys this week and went to a 5 man rotation to add to the bullpen and we didnt skip a beat.
Luckily we have a "shadow" in our division that keeps Pawtucket honest
