I'll take a 4-3 week. Not going to get into too much, but Hector Pagan won IL Pitcher of the Month for April and debuts on the Top Pitchers list at #19. Finally, it looks like he's starting to live up to his hype. Buzzell played his first regular season games this week and played extremely well. We're a scrappy club, but our pitchng is going to do it's best to make sure we hover around .500 this season.

This is going to be a long season.

                - Perez only hit one HR this week. Lame. Still leading the league with 10, still on my trade block. Still only 26 years old. Still kicks ass.
                - Cris Medina seems pretty psyched to be called up to replace Jose Sanchez, batting .458 to win DL player of the week honors. I'm going to predict this does not continue.
                - Don Alexander is worth every penny of what I'm paying him this season.
                - Kenichi Sato is not.
                - Victor Allard has K'd 23 times in 24 games. This is actually a little bit below his career average.
                - Willie Copeland loses again, for the 5th time this season. He's going to have to pitch no-hit ball for most of the season to normalize his current numbers.
                - The "Yoshio Yoshida at closer" experiment is going well so far. He's 8-for-8 in save opportunities without giving up a run.
                - Congrats to Curt McMahon on his first BLB win. At 25 years old and with the team floundering, he is up for good at this point and we're just letting it roll.
                - Pat Nelson continues to be near-unhittable despite having almost no control. He's another one we're just letting pitch right now to see what happens.

                NEW ORLEANS DUKES since 1993

                2000 BLB Champions

Anyway, Zamarida gone for another month.

Dane Browning can't hit all of a sudden. No sign of a ratings hit, but I tell you, unless this is just a prolonged slide, it would be one of the most ridiculous ratings hits of all-time. Going to assume he's just sandbagging the early part of the season.

                  Gonna be a good season.

CAL 3B Tad Jackson is on pace for 106 2B's a month into the season. He had 62 last year. Plays good defense and walks more than he strikes out. He has a little speed (though Cali doesn't cut him loose). In short, he's my kind of player. Single season record is 65 doubles by SS Amoldo Andradez back in 1985 at the age of 21.

No, I won't. Fitzgerald could very well be a star in a few months. He isn't one right now. He hasn't even played like an average player in his three seasons.

It's just a funny heading because it doesn't come close to being true. But, Fitzgerald definitely has the talent to become a star so I do expect he will become a good pitcher, perhaps even a very good pitcher.

No, he's already a star. Suck it, Denver!

                              6-1

Our first sim where we actually showed up to play some baseball. Played well against the division and even had a sweep of DC in DC!

We're getting the pitching we need but still need some pop in our lineup. Always seems like the two never come together at the same time.
