As for my pick, I'm here, just doing a little posturing before I make my pick.

                • Sin City selects SP Glen "Coffin" Harrington out of Arizona at 1.14.

One of three pitchers in this year's draft to throw a knuckle curve, Harrington compliments that pitch with a live fastball that tops out at 100 mph and good command. Our scouts are optimistic that he will develop a third pitch and turn into an effective low-stamina starter, but at worst we view him as a potentially lockdown multi-inning weapon out of the pen. Love his makeup and his final season at Arizona (0.65 WHIP, .163 OAVG, 77/3 K/BB ratio) sold us on him.

I guess I kind of undersold his command when I described it as "good."

But yeah. We weren't enamored with his lack of a 3rd pitch or his stamina rating, but those college numbers were just too crazy to pass up. Reminds me of what Ismael Ramirez did in high school. He's been doing well since he was drafted (doesn't have a 3rd pitch either) and I hope Harrington follows his lead (albeit with a faster track to the majors because of his increased age).

                            • With the 15th pick in the 1992 BLB Amateur Draft, the Washington Bats (through Syracuse) select, 1B Shawn Nolan out of Cal State Fullerton.

My scout thinks he has the tools to be a superstar but fears he might fall a bit short and be just a good player. Nolan for whatever reason, played 1B for the Titans, however, my scouts think he will be a top notch defensive infielder, likely at 2B or SS. I also really like his intelligence and work ethic. Plus, he will be in the bigs sooner than later.

I went back and forth between Nolan and another hitter...who I assume will be off the board in the next 2-3 picks. Maybe even the very next.
