The guy I really wanted was gone so I'm rolling the dice on Dani Ortiz at 10.

I'm confused as my scout has his ratings not exactly where I want them to be, but in his assessment he gushes over him and says he's the 2nd best player in the draft. He's an excellent scout and he has a huge budget so I'm going to defer to him and take the leap of faith.
LeGrange should never be doubted! I always went by him and he provided us with some good picks that had me scratching my head at the time.

Ortiz was #3 on my list (higher than Gaston), but I wanted pitching with this pick. Good get here.

Being that my ranking system is fairly new (second year), he'll be a good barometer.
Oh... yeah.... I like 'em both... but the Catcher was higher.

Had my heart set on a pitcher but I valued Rodriguez more than the arms out there at this time. With the loss of our scout to WC, we really need to depend on gut feelings....I've yet to develop trust in my new scout.
I like Pepe. Solid pick here.

        • Workin' today. I'm 5 picks away personally, so I'm on AUTO from list. If anything gets held up while I'm out, it'll just have to wait or Andrew can nudge it along. I don't anticipate any slowdowns.

I hope you're right. I'm gonna trust him this draft and see what happens.

                        • Well, that about did it for me. Once Evil Ways was taken, all of the surest bet draftees are off the board.

Not saying there isn't potential still out there, but remaining class just dropped into Tier 2.

                          • Eh, I think there's still 3-4 guys out there that are safe bets to be good if not great players.

                            • I almost passed on Evil Ways for a starter I like, but, one thing I've never had in California is a shut down back of the bullpen type pitcher.

Hoping McCormick can be that guy.
