The Colonials welcome SP Gene Legere out of USC to the family.

Another high K, low WHIP superstar in the making.

Welcome to Virginia - Where Champions are Made.

Good pick. He would've been mine if I kept it. Honestly, I think he's late 1st round/early 2nd round material. But this is a weak draft class, so I do think he was the best available pitcher.

I'm not too sure if Legere is going to be a high strikeout guy at the BLB level, but I do like the pick.

Yeah, I actually agree. Stuff probably isn't high enough to K a ton at the BLB level, but I like his make-up.

Legere, not Benitez, is going to be the top BA prospect out of the gate IMO.

That means nothing, but I also like the guy a lot. My scout has his stuff at a 5 but I think he's really better than that.

I think Benetiz is better and I'd guess BA will think so too. Benitez will be Top 10 out of the gate, Legere will prolly come in in the 30's or 40's. Still love him. He too was a Champ in '91.

Oh, so it was the first time for both of you? Neat.

We go with Willie Trent from the U. Needed to get another arm in the pipe. Picking 7th in this year's draft was pretty difficult.

I'm sorry, Clown, how many rings are there on your make-up covered fingers?

                          Good pick.

I was hoping I could snag him at 11 but didn't think it was likely. We also need another arm in the system, but according to my scout the talent level for starters in the 1st round drops off after Trent.

Willie Trent is the first pick outside of my top 20. Seems decent, but have a handful of SPs above him.

Went with Deleon over Gaston. I like them both, just think Deleon projects to be a bit better. I'm not seeing Gaston as significantly more advanced at this stage. Based on what I have in my system, I think I'll be able to find at least 3 OF's that can start at the BLB level. Not sure I can say that any of my catchers projects that well.

So far, I've liked every pick. If I had gone with a pitcher than Benitez was going to be the guy.
