That's more of a shot at the DL than at the Stout.

Trust me when I say I wasn't being modest. I honestly expected to be 1st in the ratings. Not only was I not.... Washington had me by about 12%. I know Shavermetrics don't mean much, but that may be the biggest gap between 1st and 2nd that we've had since I've been running this. Shavermetrics LOVE the Bats this season.
There were 4 teams head and shoulders above everyone else last year. One team traded away their best pitcher and their best hitter. Last I checked, Woodbury and Herrera were still on your team.

Baltimore's really the only one you could say made a splash in the IL. Pat replaced Carlton, and you brought in some quality talent that may not be on par with what you lost, but it's still enough to consider your team as the favorite.

The IL is pretty awful, outside of those three teams, when you think about it. I could be wrong, but right now we're looking pretty bad on paper.

As good as Toapanta is, he is no Carlton. Irreplaceable.

I wouldn't go that far. I still think you're only the 3rd best team in the IL. You can also say you're the worst of the best.

No, I've always thought you sucked... it's just going to be sweeter this year because some people don't.

They're not the same type of pitcher.

                Toapanta is the workhorse.

He's not always flashy, but he's going to get you into the 8th-9th inning a lot more than your average starter.

Carlton, on the other hand was more brilliant than Toapanta, but he couldn't last as late into the games as Joe could.

Basically, do you want a guy that can go CG every time out, but at the risk of giving up 3 runs... or do you want a pitcher that would go 6 or sometimes 7 innings and possibly leave with a shut out?

Don't pull that fancy smancy best pitcher in baseball shit on me.

I know where you came from. We both grew up on the same street, in broken down organizations that just needed some love and care.

                    Don't forget your roots Shaver.

Trust me... there will be no shortage of bravado this season... Yoritoki Maeda is going nuts this season... and I can't wait to tell Pat all about it.
The old Clay would have told Brad to fuck off.
