    Sorry. Let me rephrase that.

"I disagree with why your excel worksheet has me third in the division."

    Syracuse Slammers - BLB

Again... you can't pinpoint the exact reason... Shavermetrics is mysterious that way.... she's like the wind... through my tree...

Plus how dare you accuse Shavermetrics of using Excel... Shavermetrics is its own super computer.

Denver could be solid, but as he mentioned today, I'm not convinced they can hit, especially with Pedro in a nursing home. It's funny - Denver is all pitching, I'm all offense (at least relatively) and Clown has a nice balance.
I think that is the best way to put it.

I will believe till the day I die that pitching wins games, but it still took my offense waking up in the second half of 1991 to get Denver into the playoffs.

Without getting too deep into it because I do have some theories, it amazes me that a team with the amount of hitters it has can't produce more runs consistently. From about 1-9, the Denver offense is made up of guys that can hit .280 or better. But, it's not about just getting a hit.

Syracuse definitely has the hitting. There's also a nice young version of a Denver great at 3B - better than Zamarida was at that age too. Love the two young left handed hitting catchers. That team is going to score runs, that's for sure.

And it's incredibly hard to disagree with Shavermetrics in picking Indy in having the best pitching rotation. Their 1-2-3 is better than my 1-2-3. And while I think I have better balance in the bottom of the rotation, Raul Gonzalez could give Indy four guys that would be 1-2 starters on many rotations. That's a team that's going to have four guys with at least 12 wins. Calling it.

I don't think their offense matches Syracuse, but it has the power that Denver's lacks. Balance with power. 1-9 the lineup holds up and they can scare with a big hit.

        I think the keys are:

Denver: Hitters need to hit in unison.
Indianapolis: Lineup needs to stay healthy.
Syracuse: Rotation needs to pitch to its potential.

I think Jim still needs some time, but like Jake said, his team could surprise. A change here or there and you never know. Will it be enough to win the division? Probably not. And with there being a legit four teams in the DL that could win the Wild Card after the division winners are set, it's a long road to climb in one season.

And, say it with me now.

I-hate-you-Pilsner. (But, secretly, I love all you guys. Ok, maybe it's not a secret anymore. Actually, I really hate Jake. Ryan too. Jim is all right now that he trades with us).
