Why do you want to watch your players suck in real time?

I was hoping to subcontract good scouting to you to help you make good trades.

              A Little Help!

I've never understood "International Scouting". Does this apply just to professionals (not amateurs) playing outside of the USA?

I've always assumed that this just really applies to leagues where you can find Intl players during play and has nothing to do with the draft.

But I don't know this as fact.

I'm curious to know about the international budget too. I've always had mine set to $0, but maybe I should be putting some money there?

My opinion of the international budget is that it applies to guys in the amateur draft that are from outside the U.S. Specifically guys that didn't play in an organized league, i.e. college or high school. But not a guy from say, Japan, who moved here as a youth and played organized high school ball.

I feel VERY strongly that this is not correct. Intl players would fall under amateur scouting. Even our Intl guys are assigned a HS or College level.

Not trying to tell people how to assign their budgets, but I'm 99% sure its wasted dough in the league.

Maybe. But, although they are given a HS or College level, I think its merely for comparisons sake. Aren't they given mock stats too?

Yep, but they're HS or Col affiliated stats.

Again, take it all with a grain of salt. Can only say its my opinion and how I operate.

I asked Andrew this specific question a season or two ago and IIRC he indicated that no team should spend any $$ on Intl Scouting since we don't use Intl Leagues. I've not spent a dime on it since then. I'd wait for Andrew to confirm that once again, but that's the belief I've been operating under.
