If you look at the game file... there's two John Brabant's listed.

One, the retired player that became a scout.

Two, the retired player that is now a manager.

Both are the same person... but, for whatever reason, the game created him as a scout and a coach... so they have slightly different ratings... but it's just a glitch in the game... you didn't lose your AA manager.
