Has he really been out of baseball since '87 but still hasn't retired?

Really? Three straight years over 80 VORP and then he never gets over 45 again?

I mean, yes, in a sense, he fell a level and played there till the end of his career... but it still was a massive drop... and it happened in one season.

If it went 80 - 65 - 55 - 40, I'd be happier about it... but then again, not everyone's career arch is like that, anyways.

He's retired. His bio says so. The news wasn't updated for some reason.

I mean, it wasn't a bell curve or anything but not that drastic. His innings declined. His Ks declined. Etc.

Some players just don't have it listed in their history. He is long since retired.

Check out Joe Molenza...he might be another good example of a huge decline...and he's not even old. I blame his almost immediate decline on version change. It sucked just a little bit eating the rest of the $22.0 I owed him and cutting him last season.

Bovey broke his leg and my heart last season. He was such a beast the 1st half.

As for Friday's sim...let's do it! I'm sure all those that need any sort of FA dealing can get it done today, tonight, tomorrow AM, tomorrow night...even if they are traveling! Ho Ho Ho!

Why would I be? There have been a lot of guys in MLB history who've gone from a .366/.466/.582 line to a .230/.349/.309 line the next season without some kind of catastrophic injury taking place between those seasons. Perfectly normal career trajectory between ages 37 and 38 right there.

The trade that changed my franchise. We went from 71 wins in '87 when he traded him to 72 wins in '91.

I'd have one if I was going to be around. I'm getting up at 5a on Fri to drive 110 miles each way to pick up my deadbeat brother to bring him home for Christmas. I'm booked all day.

I'm still pissed about that. Alsina looked like a Hall of Famer.

Well, you did get Ednams out of it. I'd still call it a win.
