If you work out any deals this sim, they'll just be gone when you import the new file, as far as I understand it. Nothing you do this sim will go forward, it's simply for the Rule V draft.

Trades can still be made. Anything you do in your game file now will be over written when you download the file after the Rule V. So, even if you make offers to FA's, scouts and coaches or your own players as extensions it will be like they never happened since it won't be imported.

If a player is on your 60 day DL, we consider that protected. We've done it in the past.

As we employed a "cap" if you see a trend going might want to put in a "min" rule also.

I'd be suprised if those teams are chasing 38 year olds anyway.

We'll never have a minimum. There's no reason. It's not like they're pocketing the extra.

SP Joaquin Alvarez. Player card says he's eligible, but he's not on the list. Weird.

If we want to reward teams who draft well this idea isn't that crazy. Your years are slightly off though. Currently it's either 3 minimum, 3 arbitration for regular players or 2 minimum and 4 arbitration for "super 2" players.

It's worth talking about. I would think the smaller market teams would like this idea.

You know the cap we have does make you think hard about signing long-term deals to what I consider "non-core" players. In the offseason it forces you to look at your team in a 3-4 year scope versus the go for it now and deal with consequences later. I love this concept! Not a big fan of throwing money at the problem cuz I can. Also, signing a bunch of free agents historically never works.

With that being said, does suck losing homegrown players (See NHL). Plus, what trigger do we have to increase or decrease the cap based on the overall health of league???

Andrew already tightened the market size gap last season. After seeing how the in game owner thingy works, maybe a simple increase % of the revenue sharing combined with the Owner controlling the budget would be enough to keep league balance instead of this hard cap??(Also makes the system more automated)
