Guzman is a nice extension. $40+ million on your Top 3 players and not one is a Pitcher... guess outhitting everyone is the recipe for winning in the BLB... oh wait.

      We had a good run....

Congrats to the winners! I'm looking forward to the Washington/Virginia series, definitely has a Yankees/Red Sox vibe to it.

I still can't believe we won that game without Opio.

The Bats are 2-0 in Mapalo's starts this post-season. How many playoff wins did the Guides get this year?

I thought everyone would know you were kidding with that trio...we all know that Derrek Tucker would be the ace of any rotation we come up with.

A 77-win backdoor into the playoff followed by a 4 game sweep... it's the season that teams dream of.

I think the hate level matches... the one team was good while the other one sucked for years is there.... but I like to think of the Bats and Colonials as builders and not buyers... so we need a better reference than Yankees/Red Sox.

To be fair, we didn't acquire Alvarez and Gremades until well into the season. If you pro-rate our record with them over a full year, we're a playoff team.

A few quick thoughts I would have on doing a Division Showdown thing would be putting a few rules in like:

                  - Players who are injured on the last day of the season aren't eligible.
                  - Playoff DH Rules
                  - Players MUST play the roles they played during the season. In other words, you can't use Starters as Reliever/Closers. To be a Closer on a team, you have to have had X number of Save Opps during the season. Can't play 150 games in LF during the season, then play 1B in the series.
                  - No prospects. Active Rosters only.

                  Thoughts?
I'm OK with everything except the injuries. I think whoever is healthy at the time we hold the tournament should be allowed to participate.

Injuries should be ignored unless it's like a career ender that was edited down and we don't know how that guy will play when he comes back.

To take away someone's best player just because he got hurt at the end of the year wouldn't help this tournament do what it's really meant to do: judge the best talent.

That's all anyone cares about here. Something to talk about being better than everyone else at. We all know the winning division would do it.

So, imagine if this happened two years ago and the Stout couldn't have Pancho there? Even as great as he is, I would be against leaving him out. He's perhaps the best pitcher in the league and if you want to judge the best talent, he has to play. Same goes for Players X, Y,Z.

I'd prefer to keep injuries because it allows us the illusion that this tournament is actually real rather than a fantasy baseball experiment.

+1. However, I'd like to keep it to whoever is healthy at the end of the playoffs.

Lol, well then can we pull our players like the Probowl? I dont care so much about injuries in Divsional sim time, but I'd be really pissed if Hector got a 13 month injury.

I never understand you guys and your Division pride. Maybe it's because I'm in the Bock but I hate every other team in our division.

I don't want my guys playing in a tournament with our rivals!

I was probably the only one let down when the WBC was retired.

                              I gotta agree with Carlos.

If this is a fantasy tournament in candy land then we need to have all the star players from each division, injured or not.

As for this divisional thing, honestly, I don't even give a crap anymore. I just want Denver to continue winning games.
