I'm so proud of that old Cuban. 34-years-old and sets career highs in Home Runs, RBI and Runs scored. 17 RBI in the final week of the season helped him set up a first place tie with McGuire of Maine in the Domestic League.

Impressive finish by the old man.

Dane Browning also made me cry happy tears by pulling off a .500 week and finishing with a .305 average after hovering around .290 all second half. Didn't know someone could add .011 to their batting average in the last week of a full season. Not an easy thing to do.

And Chet Poole finished up a great September with a 5-0 record and DL Pitcher of the Month. Denver pitchers won 3 of the 6 DL POM awards this season.

Unfortunately, Poole hurt himself three innings into his last start. He will be forced to wait and pitch in Game 4 against Pawtucket.

Nice minor league did help, but I'm not a very patient man so I did deal quiet a bit away in order to improve pitching. The $$$$ mess took a good 1/2 season also. (Thanks Davenport for Nickell)
