D.C. Bats (89-54, 15 GB, 1st in WC)
1-1 @ WIL
2-0 vs. MOR
3-0 @ Davenport
No MAP? No Johnston? No problem. 6-1 sim, with the one loss being 7-8 in extras after my two closers each both blew a save in seperate innings.
The Good
-Pitching, pitching, pitching. Tommy Lang, Martin Carlton and Anselmo Mapalo are closing out the year on high notes. Oh, and Derrick "Prediction" Tucker is having a pretty nice finish to the season as well.
-Injury replacements are really stepping up. Tex Briggs and Carlos Bamentos both hit .300 for the week in spot starts. Also, Clint Johnston's replacement, Hector Castillo, hasn't missed a beat in hitting .400+ and stealing a few bases.
The Bad
-The only bad thing is my two closers blowing that game against Wilmington. I was hopeful that by this late in the year, one would emerge as the clear #1 option but it hasn't happened. Continue with the committiee.
-Oh, and Baltimore having a decent week doesn't help.
The Injured
-No injuries this week and R.A. Grounds returns from his yearly mid-season vacation (month on the DL).
Next
-Three versus Carolina. Three versus California. Should be easy money...something doesn't seem right. Feels like 3-3.

Julian Murillo has been en fuego following up a no-hit game with 8 innings of shutout baseball and a 7 inning quality start. 3 wins in the month with an ERA just over 1.00.
Colonials dropped a game in each series. Errors really hurt us this SIM and we left a ton of guys on base.
Nothing Earth-shattering going on. Magic Number to claim our 2nd Stout title is 5.
IL New Brew Candidate Jerry Daly drove in his 100th run to become the 5th player on our team to hit triple figures. Nice number for a guy who has spent 99% of the season hitting 7th or 8th.
Colonials are resting players in September, Bats are trying to win a WC. Just sayin'.
The Bats have been resting players since April. That's why I use the six man pitching rotation. Playoffs are almost a guarantee in Washington these days. Just sayin'.
