Good move, I did the same with Victor and now Hector earlier this year.

A complete bargain. He could get twice that on the open market.

The Tobs went 3-4 this week, managing to somehow sweep Wilmington after dropping 2 apiece to Davenport and Los Alamos. We're still 5 games clear of the Wildcats for the Co-Commissioner's cup.

The prospects I've called up have had mixed results. Dana Scott is doing pretty well in LF, .305/.388/.424 with 12 RBI in 14 games. Not lighting the world on fire, but solid. He started his career on a 10 game hitting and streak and has hit in 13/14 games, reaching base in all of them.

Pat Gates has struggled a bit at first base but has had some solid games and has a HR. I'm not sure he's the prospect I thought he was after last season, but hopefully he can be a solid 1B in the future.

Jody Scoley, the lone top 100 prospect I called up, has a 3.68 ERA after 3 starts but has struggled in 2 of them. I'm not sure he's much more than a 4th/5th starter but that makes him one of the best pitchers on my team.

Would that be like the 6-man rotation in Virgina that has a legit shot at six 10 game winners? Just sayin'.

It's a copy cat league. What can I say. When you have a powerhouse in your division like a Washington, you better be taking notes.

Yes, it is the Washington blueprint to outscore the rest of the league by 200 runs, steal three times as many bases, and build a dominant starting rotation through the draft. Thank you for opening my eyes.

No, that's some new formula for regular season success.

I'm talking about the D.C. blueprint to winning Brewmasters. Plural.

Hmmmm... Well, I'm going to try the dominate the regular season and the playoffs this year and see how it works out. I tried the WC route last season and once I got through the tiny speed bumps in the IL, I just wasn't ready to finish off the DL... And by DL I mean the only team of note.

That's all that needed to be said. We get it.

The DL is like the sorority of fat chicks, that somehow convinced some freshman beauty to sign and they have been latching to her as their guide.

It's how I'd imagine most of the sororities at EMU.

Pretty much. Though EMU pulls above average talent for the Midwest. Gotta remember, its the #1 school in the Midwest for Elementary Education. So you get a nice yield of hot wanna be Kindergarten Teachers.

Its also a state school 2 miles from U of M, so you get a lot of low self-esteemers with a 3.0 GPA and bitter that they weren't good enough for UofM. Or at least pissed that Daddy wouldn't flip the bill to be a Wolverine.

I know this will probably be twisted to still somehow accuse me of cheating... but I'd like to point out that I believe it's a combination of where and how often I play guys (with perhaps a sprinkling of my trainer and dumb luck) that has left me so injury-free this season.

                            Look at EG's season:

                            01/01/1991 OSA scouting updated ratings (potential): Contact: 6 (6); Power: 5 (5); Eye: 7 (7).
07/01/1991 Was selected to the 1991 Brewers League Baseball All-Star Game.
07/15/1991 Was traded by the Virginia Colonials to the Pittsburgh Millers in exchange for MR Glen Farrell, a 1st draft pick, a 2nd draft pick, $1,220,000.
08/01/1991 Wins the BLB DL Batter of the Month Award.
08/20/1991 Signed a 3-year contract extension worth a total of $53,750,000 with the Pittsburgh Millers organization.
08/29/1991 Injured (strained quadriceps), day-to-day for 6 days.
09/03/1991 Injured (quadriceps soreness), day-to-day for one week.
09/06/1991 Injured (back stiffness), day-to-day for 1-2 weeks.

Perfectly healthy in Virginia.... moves on to Pittsburgh and starts playing OF, playing more, not subbing defensively, etc... and he's pulled 3 injuries in 8 days.

Anyway... just sayin'... after 11 seasons... as shocking as it sounds I may actually just be good at this game.

                              Being commmish = being good

There's a lot of evidence to prove this theory correct.

I'm beating him into the ground trying to make the playoffs. Hoping I don't do any permanent damage.

Came up with a clutch 5-2 sim. Still very much alive here.
