It was a flaw in the game in a way. Guys were getting CEI for things that would not end a career.

The rule that's in place only allows "resurrection" if they're on your 40 man or in the BA Top 100.

No, I get it. I went back and checked. Was it cuz the injury rate was changed from "Low" to "Average"?? Or a ton of superstars bit the bullet?

            Hannigan was pretty unreal. http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_1995.html

Do you remember if he had a "3" or "4" stamina? AKA, would have been a starter down the road?

              Nice "Diesel Move" here.

Gene Bland, who had 15 starts in the BLB last season, pitched a Perfect Game.... in A Ball.

In a related story, Roy Halladay just threw a no-no against his kid's Little League team.

So... Batavia takes the AAA and AA titles this season. Pretty impressive.

In 12 seasons, I'm pretty sure I've never made the playoffs in minors at any level.

Eh, as far as I'm concerned, he's playing to his level at A ball. The guy loves the game. I told him I was going to cut him, but he said he wanted to go to Evansville and mentor some our younger arms. Possible coach material, imo.

Thanks for your concern, though. Top notch commishing. Keep up the good work.

I spent a 3rd Rounder on Bland back in the day... can I help it that I still care?

Am I supposed to be a man? Am I supposed to say "I don't mind". I don't mind. Well I mind! I mind big time! And the worst thing of all... I never learned to read! (sniff)

Good SIM for the Colonials all in all...

                              Highlights:

                              - Split with the Bats, despite giving every position player at least one (if not two) games off during the series.

                              - Lost our first game of the year to Morgantown. Knew it wasn't realistic to sweep them for the season, but oh well.

                              - Hector Chavez set a Virginia Colonials single season record for Hits when he passed Cristian Martinez' 188. Chavez currently sits at 194 and may be the one thing standing between Mel Woodbury and his 4th straight IL Stout Slugger. Chavez also upped his 3-bagger total to 14... he's now just 3 back of teammate Dale O'Hegarty's BLB record of 17 in a season.

                              - Speaking of Doorbell, he's now just one steal away from tying the Virginia Colonials singe-season record for stolen bases. He's having a season that fairy tales will some day be written about.

                              - Yoritoki Maeda took home the IL Player of the Week award. He's also hitting north of .420 (ironically) against the Diesel... the man who once called him "a glorified doubles hitter who will walk a little." He's now raised his average to .331, his OBP to over .410... oh... and he's now rated the #12 hitter in the BLB by OSA.

                              - Colonials picked up their 100th victory of the season in DC. The franchises first 100 win season leaves them just 10 wins behind the all time IL record and 14 off the BLB record with 26 games to go.

                              In other Colonial related news....

                              - Pittsburgh crapped the bed this SIM raising their chances of missing the playoffs and raising the value of that number one pick.

                              - Washington was visited once again by the harma/injury bug. Maybe if he spent less time tracking mine and wishing injury on my players, he'd give his players a game off and keep them healthy.

                                Hope Dims for Johnston's Recovery
Monday, September 2nd, 1991: The injury sustained by Clint Johnston today was described by the Washington Bats medical director quite bluntly, "It is the worst trauma of this type I have ever seen. His career is over."
I was honestly expecting it to say he was dead as I read the headline and first sentence.

My Tobs went 2-4 this week, and we've all but guaranteed ourselves the #1 overall pick. On a positive note, Dana Scott had a solid week making his BLB debut. Jody Scoley and Pat Gates also made their first appearances in the majors. I'm not really expecting stardom from any of them, but I'm hoping they will be factors on my team going forward.
