  • No Sim Tonight - April 22

The game is CTD'ing every time I try to advance to the next day and I don't have time to work on it anymore tonight. I'm guessing it has to do with deleting the offers file. I'm zipping up the full league file so I can take a look at it tomorrow at work, so hopefully will have it up tomorrow night.

Did every team download the new league file even if they hadn't or weren't planning on making any offers? If not, then they have the old file containing old data which is likely causing a conflict.

It's a good possibility. Here's what I'm going to do... sim 1 day with no imports. Everyone MUST download the new file and re-export. I'm deleting all the current exports on the server. It should go without saying, but I wouldn't waste a lot of time on your teams other than offers, etc until we get this straightened out.

Scratch that. It won't sim a day even when I leave out the exports. Back to the drawing board.

I'd just like to offer a big thanks to Z and the rest of the beta team for insuring we received a stable, dependable product.

I can see how it might seem that way not being involved in the process, but that definitely is not the case. The scope of this game is way too big for one person to be involved in every aspect. We were basically assigned to teams and had to trust that other areas of the game were in good hands. I know you were probably just trying to take a shot at Z, but Z, robby and I put a shitload of work into the beta.

I'm pretty sure he's being facetious.

Besides, this latest string of events came along after the patch, which the beta team didn't get long to test.

If you've beta tested games and stuff before, it is a real pain in the ass and a lot of work. If you are going to slam guys for missing stuff you may want to ensure you beta test your posts for grammar.

Actually, I'm pretty sure insuring and ensure both work.

This league has been going on for well over a calendar year and people still don't get when others are screwing around?

I think a line and block chart is in order to show some of the inter-personal relationships here from other sites.

Not interested in having a back and forth discussion about this. Keep on topic please.

Whatever you guys can figure out that will avoid making the 2-3 hours I spent completely overhauling my organization today a total waste of time, I'm in favor of. :D

Seriously though - if we have to download a new league file and re-export, there is no way for me to save all that I've done to my team, is there?

I cant look at this anymore tonight. I'm beyond frustrated, especially since this worked fine on my work PC. Not sure what else to do. :(
