See, right now I'm digging Knight. Love his walk to strikeout ratio.

I like Knight. The guy doesn't K. Will finish 30/30. Team could make the playoffs. He's a great all-around player.

I think Knight does get my vote if it's today. But I still feel like it's a pretty open race.

Speaking of Knight... just looking back at the 1983 Draft... Knight was clearly the #1 Position Player on everyone's board and has really proven out.

In fact, the 1-2-3-4 of Magness, Brode, Knight and Carbajal is one of the few Top 4's without a bust in the group.
              The Great One!

              To many rings to count...

Has anyone thought about Rex Knight for DL Stout Slugger? He's having a really good year.

The DL is way more competitive than the IL thats for sure.
It has definitely been that way for a while now. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but the IL is definitely more top heavy whereas the DL is more even after Maine.

I don't know if the IL is that way because more teams are bad or because a few teams are just that great; and I don't know if the DL is that way because so many teams are good or because so many teams are not.

Depends on how you look at things, I think. It's mostly interesting to see how the two leagues are different, though, and I do think it has played a large role in why Maine has always been a top contender for a title out of the DL whereas the IL has had different teams win a title.

I think Knight is the front runner as others have said. There are a few other names that could be mentioned because they are close, but Knight's biggest advantage is his stolen base numbers. That separates him.

Oh, no doubt it's an open race. I haven't even bothered to look, there are so many elite hitters in the DL.

Remember, when Knight first showed in the draft class, there was much concern he was too good to be true. All those 8's scared people away, almost me included.

I about shit when he got hurt four days after being drafted. Out eight months. Speed guy tearing his ankle up isn't exactly encouraging.

I've given him the green light this year, and for the most part it's paid off. I'd like to see him get 40/40 some year.

From '78-'85, that year is probably the best first round collection of talent.

I think most voters will look past his animal porn scandal (Zebras?) and will give Knight the nod.

Now if they find his "Cabage Patch" collection.....?
